YHWH is the Great Shepherd and Israel is His flock. Even now He collects together His lambs. Y’shua Messiah is the Good Shepherd who lays down His life for the sheep. He warns against the hired shepherd who runs away and abandons the sheep in the face of danger. True pastors, under-shepherds, have been set in place by the Chief Shepherd and must look to His example and guidance to pastor His sheep. If you are called to be a pastor you will find it to be the hardest job you will ever love. It will take everything you have to lead the Master’s sometimes cantankerous sheep, but after a lifetime poured out for the flock you will receive a crown of glory reserved especially for those who lead well, in the love of the Lord. The true shepherd faces many occupational hazards but can overcome them all by never forgetting one thing. In this episode we learn the important secret of pastoring, directly from the Master’s lips. Not a pastor? You will still be blessed by this program as you are reminded how dearly you are loved as one of the Master’s sheep!

These days, the word “Evangelist” calls to mind a very different image than the Biblical word actually suggests. In this program we will discuss the “Evangel” (good news, gospel), the “Evangelist” (messenger of good news) and what it means to “preach” the good news, in the true Biblical sense. Here’s a hint - it doesn’t involve church buildings at all! We will also explore the origin of the concept of the Evangelist (you guessed it) in the Tenach (”Old Testament”) to learn what the fullness of the “Good News”actually includes. You probably won’t be surprised, as a listener of our program, to learn that much has been stripped away from the original “Gospel” message. The redemption of Israel, for example. But never fear! This program makes a good start at putting it all back where it belongs!

Imagine attending a meeting of the Messianic believers in the first century! In attendance we have several prophets, several teachers, some healers, some miracle workers, some exhorters, some who bring a psalm, prayer, revelation or other spiritual gift to the meeting and all intend to share their gift. With so many having a spiritual gift to share the meeting could become quite chaotic - but it doesn’t. Everything takes place in love according to a Divine order filled with peace. Messiah brings a personal blessing through all to all to edify each and every person in attendance! Would you like to be there at that meeting to receive what He has for you - and to share your gift with others? Don’t have a gift of the Spirit to share? You can! Messiah intends that every believer should have a gift to share and to receive from the gifts of others through regular attendance at such a gathering of the Body of Messiah. Due to the present state of things many of us don’t have that right now. Even so, it is uplifting just to know about this wonderful intention of our Father’s heart. In this program learn how such meetings function and especially what prophecy at such meetings is all about!

Today prophets are often thought of as rather gruff people who can’t get along with anyone. As we look at the record of the first century believers in the book of Acts we get a picture of prophets that is not like that stereotype at all! We will look at examples of prophets who were mature men of God, fully submitted to apostolic leadership, working hard to build up the one Body of Messiah shoulder to shoulder with the apostles. These were faithful men who could be sent out far away by the leadership in Jerusalem with confidence that they would uphold the core values, teachings and authority defined by the men Messiah had chosen to govern His Assembly. Personal ego was not the driving force for these men. Devotion to Messiah and His Kingdom is what motivated them. In times like these when being “first” seems to be everything, such men are highly under-rated, but, as you will see in this program, the Good News may never have gotten much beyond Judea had it not been for the vital ministry of those who were “second” - the faithful prophets!
