Is the Church Israel? #02
Posted by TsiyonJan 14
There is a lot of confusion about what the Church is and what Israel is as presented in Scripture. This program will guide you through some key verses that will help you to make a start at clarifying this from the standpoint of first century believers in Messiah. This is a vital teaching for every believer and is also foundational to the rest of the On the Road to Tsiyon series.

Precisely! The New Covenant is made with Israel’s remnant, hidden until Adonai reveals them. Praises to YHVH, Who has preserved the Davidic lineage, and for grafting the wild olive branches to the True Olive Tree, through Yeshua HaMashiach! Praise YHVH for His Ruach Hakodesh for guiding us to all truths. Ester

YES, YES, YES!!!!!!!!! Speak it brother! The theology of the mainstream church and the translation of the scriptures is very misleading to put it lightly! And sister Ester I couldn’t have said more eloquently! He is the one to be praised for the TRUTH of his word. The truth of HIS word clearly states all over the New testament the remnant REMAINS!!!! And might I add interesting how Pentecost is mentioned after Messiah’s death!
Matthew 5:17-19 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I AM not come to destroy, but to fulfill. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Well on that note the Christian church is definitely not going to be considered great in the kingdom, because they are teaching men so! By twisting the writings of Paul into what they want they are turning away from the ways of Y’shua HaMashiach! (AKA Jesus Christ) Lets not say WWJD! Lets look at what Y’shua actually did! He kept the Sabbath, Holy days, and Kosher! He was a living example of the Torah (law)! Lets imitate him and HIS example to the best of our abilities! Shalom, Summer:>)

Wow, another breathtaking lesson. I sit in awe how you managed to get the entire teaching of Who was the assembly, who are the assembly and who is the assembly to come in an hour. I have often fumbled over the right words to portray that to believers that feel that they are somehow superior to their Israelite brethren who they believe murdered their Messiah and so they self-righteously take their place in The CHURCH. How can we allow ourselves to believe that when the Scriptures are so clear that Yahweh doesn’t change. If He is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow, why would we think His Covenants which He calls Everlasting would change from one Covenant People to another. In order to perpetuate that lie, HaSatan dubbed it the OLD and the NEW with, as you so elequently stated….absolutely no indication in the Scriptures of a prophesized change. HaSatan has truly deceived the whole world…Praise Yah for guiding us in Truth.
I wanted to add like I described in lesson one, the Church I attended for 20 years believed that they had gone back to the first Century and was the closest to the first century believers that one wound find. When my husband and I met with the Elders to discuss our concerns over what seemed to us like error…i.e. the Scriptures taught one thing and we were doing another. Your discussion on the Pauline theology that exists in the Church today rang so true for us and had we not heard it from the Elders in our Church with our own ears, I wouldn’t have believed it. Basically, when we said, Christ kept the Torah, the Sabbath, The Commandments - all of them, and the Feasts ….we were told well, WE FOLLOW WHAT THE APOSTLES TAUGHT because that was ALL BEFORE CHRIST NAILED EVERYTHING TO THE CROSS!!!!!!!!
Moving to a totally different point in your lesson which brought something to my mind that I hadn’t thought of before. Although, I have studied and do believe that we are grafted into the Olive Tree and Israel is the Olive Tree….I couldn’t help but think hmmmm, Israel is also called The Fig Tree…why both. What came to mind is that Israel when described as the Fig Tree is referring to Israel as a Nation and When Israel is referred to as the OLIVE TREE, perhaps it is referring to the People. Since we know that not all who call themselves a Jew are a Jew, nor do I imagine that all of those who reside in Israel would be part of the Olive Tree…just some thoughts that came to mind during your lesson.
Shalom,
Christine

Shalom sisters Summer and Christine!
So uplifting to read your comments here, may I add in my bit?
“Church teachings” have misled the massive church-goers, and I have since last year as I was brought to Tsiyon.org and Eliyahu’s Hebraic roots teachings through Ruach HaKodesh, that I have kept pork and seafood off my meals. Not that I was particularly fond of them anyway, so no struggle there! : ))
Keeping kosher meals was also brought about in my walk as I sought The Ruach for answers to folks going overboard crossing the fine line to Judaism; and read a timely email-article in which the writer wrote how grieved she was that some ‘delivered Jews’ are enjoying eating bacon,
There’s a beautiful article on “Olive Tree People” at “Share what the Spirit is Saying” (under “I Am calling you to a higher place!”) Community Forum, General Discussions,
The FIG tree, is a very fruitful tree, and I’ve often lamented over the untimely immatured fruits that fall so abundantly onto the ground onto the pavements.. “what a waste and a heart-ache to the owner!” I would think; and in the spiritual case, a big heart-ache to YHWH, our ABBA. Matt 21: 19; Luke 13:6. Could this be referring to ‘churches’, which brought forth some pleasing matured fruits (truth-seekers) to YHWH’s glory? And these are the ones grafted into the True Olive Tree?! Food for thought!
Love in Yahshua,
Ester.

I am torn bewtween anger and deep sorrow everytime I think about the church I attended for several years whre it bcame routine to leave our scriptures closed while our pastor disected versus of scriture
I truly love those people and I am certain that my feelings pale in comparison to the LOVE OUR FATHER has for them. My husband believed, came to faith, was saved in our old church. May Hashem prepare their hearts to hear and obey the truth.
I cannot remeber where the scripture is …but it is prophecied that 10 people of the nations will ask 1 child of Israel to ” teach me about your GOD” . I started taking Hebrew classes last year thinking YHVH would bless me with understanding to make it easier, but that is not the case as I am learning. Each step is a battle on the road to tsiyon.
Thank You for this teaching…I still feel very alone in this world, often wondering where this path is going to take me.

“Lo, I am sending my messenger to prepare the way before me; And suddenly there will come to the temple the lord whom you seek, and the messenger of the covenant whom you desire. Yes, he is coming, says the Lord of hosts. But who will endure the day of his coming? And who can stand when he appears? For he is like the refiners fire, or like the fullers lye. He will sit refining and purifying, and will purify the sons of Levi, refining them like gold or silver that they may offer due sacrifices to the Lord The the sacrifices of Judah and Jerusalem will please the Lord, as in the days of old, as in years gone by.”

Hi Friends,
I think the Church today is by contrast much different than the believers of the 1st century Church. It’s my opinion that today’s Church more resembles Babylon, than the people of the God of Israel. I do not intend to offend anyone. Please know that.
At some point the God of Israel is going to call his people out of Babylon.
I believe it’s happening even today. I believe this program is an example of it.
May the Lord continue to bless Eliyahu in his calling.

I recently wrote about this teaching to my email ministry. A lot of people don’t know this truth or they just ignore it like the Christmas truth. I didn’t understand the Holy Spirits reasoning for instructing me to go to the source until now. The false teachings in churches around the world has become like an indoctrination. The people are wiling to beleive whatever the pastor or minister in front of them is saying. I’m trying to get my core listeners to understand that we all need to go back to the Hewbraic roots of the teachings. Read each scripture in context and understand that the time of the gentiles has passed. Israel is the church and we need to understand them to get the truth.
Shalom.

Great show, and I would second the question from Christine. Is there a difference between The land “Isreal” and the Spirit “Isreal” .I am sure as this series continues this will become clear.I long ago sliped out of “The Church” as it were and appreciate this lesson. It always seemed strange to me that somehow people would think that Rome would become the center, or authority, for G-d’s plans. How could that be?I agree with Vincent as well ,We are coming out of Babylon…And need to prepare for the rest with open arms and minds.
Blessings to all…
Fred

Thanx again for a wonderful teaching, loving the word in spirit and truth is not prevalent in the gentile christian church of this modern era. I personally was recently muted for my beliefs of the remnant of Israel. I told the pastor that the spirit of Elijah was in his church, repent and return to the Torah! He emphatically told me he was not returning to Torah and that he understood his religion thoroughly.I gave him credit for that. Funny thing though a week later his billboard outside the church read: A Prophet Has Been Among Us. I laugh , it was not about me ,yet so fitting.Come out of Babylon, today’s church is the Tower of Babel, no one speaks the same language!Thanx for these timely teachings Tsiyon!

Well done! A lot of information in a concise manner. Especially liked the tracking of Scriptural references to the remnant.
I am speaking with several people new to Hebraic understanding, well, one new to anything Biblical, and am certain that this presentation would be very helpful as they have these same questions: how did the “church” get so far away from our roots if it is really true that we are grafted in?
Thank you!

After long having left the church system, I had ordered a set of DVDs from WorldNetDaily, not really fully understanding what I was getting. It was the Feasts of the Lord series created by the Messianic congregation leader Mark Biltz. My husband and I were just jaw dropped. Scripture after scripture was laid out to connect the dots that Yeshua not only kept the Feasts but also fulfilled many, kept kashrut, and above all emphasized that the Torah was not abolished. The current Hebrew roots movement is leading many of the dismayed believers into the Messianic congregations. Having been led to one myself, and expressing this sense of urgency I keep feeling, our particular congregation (in keeping with its own mission) is implementing corporate prayer every night together at the facility to pray for the salvation of individual Jewish nonbelievers and the specific synagogues in town by name. I don’t know for certain if this is a direct result of my squawking or if it hastened something already in the works, but now having listened to this particular segment that identifies and thoroughly explains YHWH’s covenant with Israel, it is clear that if we do our part, He will do his part, and “in this way, all Israel will be saved.” Just as Eliyahu stated, YHWH doesn’t break His covenants, so, isn’t it really the remnant we should be praying for? In Eliyahu’s vision of the precious stones (another segment) being covered by dirt and foliage, barely able to see them, it is so true that this remnant is hidden. So many true believers have left the church system and have isolated themselves, so many Jewish believers have joined the church system, so many messianic congregations have had internal divisions, one of which is rooted in the erroneous interpretation that only the Jewish members are responsible for keeping Torah and the gentiles are not. Although it appears seemingly impossible, this is the mission that we know will be accomplished. My eternal gratitude goes out to Eliyahu and Dawn who, while they are so humble in their approach, they are so faithful to follow His every lead to carry out a mighty work. Blessings and Shalom, Kim

Is the Church Israel?
The 1st century community of believers (both Jew and Gentile) rightly understood their identity as citizens of the Commonwealth of Israel. However, in today’s post-modern society of Christendom, the “gentile church” is in stark contrast to this reality with over 33,830 denominations (World Christian Encyclopedia, 2001 edition) each with their own separate identities and doctrines of man which were birthed not from the Scriptures but rather from Greco-Roman ideologies. Consequently, each believer must honestly examine this false paradigm and seek the Holy Spirit for an understanding of what the Commonwealth of Israel is and how it functions in order that we would be transformed by the renewing of our minds. Though there are many believers today who are beginning to recognize that they will need to “stand with Israel“, not all realize what this act of faith will cost them personally. This program was a wake-up call to all who are preparing to take this stand. The stronghold of both replacement theology and dispensationalism must be torn down. Ultimately, every believer who says they love Israel will be tested. Needless to say, this will be a time of sifting. There will be those who will cling to the religion of the “gentile church” forgetting the Exodus example that was set for our admonition. When the day of judgment had come upon Egypt, the gentiles (mixed multitude) had to willingly make the choice to come out of Egypt and attach themselves to the nation of Israel in order to be protected with G-d’s chosen people. It was simply not an option to set up a new entity, an “Egyptian congregation”, separate from the Israelites, and expect the promises, blessings and protection of the G-d of Israel. Neither will it be accepted to remain a separate entity “gentile church“ apart from Israel in these last days as the world reaches its prophesied judgment day. The Body of Messiah is now entering a time of great testing and Israel will become the plumb line for all who call themselves believers. To those who overcome, Yeshua will be leading this remnant with the Key of David (Rev.3:7). This ministry is a living example of this and testifies of the faithful bondservants of Tsiyon who are being positioned to carry the menorah to the finish line.
Chained to Messiah,
Summer

02 Is the Church Israel?
Shalom! Many Blessings and Thanks to Tsiyon, Eliyahu and Dawn! It is very apparent that you are anointed by the Ruach HaQodesh!
The years of confusion of what the church truly consists of from a Biblical stand point is now very clear to me. It is also, abundantly clear that I was raised under replacement theology which deeply saddens me as I realize that many of my family and friends have not the eyes to see or the ears to hear the truth. Romans 11, speaks of the spirit of stupor for which I once was afflicted. I am humbled and grateful, yet still feel undeserving, that I can be graphed into the remnant of Israel and share of the New Covenant between Israel and the House of JUDAH. I was not born Jewish or of Israel. However, I now believe that I am an Israelite. I do not believe that YHWH would allow me to come out of the stupor if HE was not going to allow me to be graphed into the olive tree (Remnant of Israel).
Praise be to YHWH for being a covenant making and keeping G-D! The one TRUE G-D! I am grateful for his mercy and grace!
For years I have questioned why we read the Bible, yet do not follow it whole heartedly. It just has never made sense to me that once Yeshua (Jesus) was crucified that nothing he said for us to do or not do, still remained. I just never really believed that following the generally census was the true and right way to go. Although, I admit that during my stupor, my words and actions portrayed that I did at that time. It amazes me how YHWH would choose different times or bits and pieces to enlighten me to question the teachings of the modern church. My questions are most likely why I have been asked to leave a church more than they have sought me out to join them. {O.o} I am truly thankful and grateful for the continued guidance of the Ruach HaQodesh! Thank you, YHWH!
It is abundantly clear that it is imperative that we get back to following the commandments of YHWH and Yeshua! It is time to shed the old self and way of thinking. It is time to relearn the Bible from a Hebraic perspective. It is time to prepare for YESHUA’s return! IT IS TIME!
This explanation just makes plain sense, yet millions are still disillusioned. I am grateful that I am no longer disillusioned as I seek to learn more of the truth.
Still amazed and seeking to learn more.
Shalom!

Good! I have been aware of the Replacement Theology for years, but you brought out even more that I was not aware of. There are many who teach in many “churches” who are just not aware of how this idea came to be.

Yeshua said in John 14:15 “If ye love me, keep my commandments.” Is this part of the old paradigm or is it part of the new paradigm for me. The answer is yes it is new, and no it is not new. Many of us know the 10 words, and if you own a bible, you have read the words in the chapters that come after those words; But with myself, I was never sure what we did with what follows. The church said that we don’t have to worry about those words. But it stays in the back of your head. In my own case, I wanted to have a small group that followed the Sabbaths and the feast for one year. Our minister was encouraging small groups and he said what ever you and a small group of people were interested in, just clear it with him, so I did. I walked out of the priest office feeling like I needed to be forgiven for being so stupid. I wanted to crawl in a hole. The first thing the priest said somewhat accusatory was “Are you thinking of becoming a Sabbatarian?” I said, “no, no!!!! I don’t think so. What’s that?” After that the conversation went down hill fast; However he did say that if I found a book I could bring it in for approval, but I didn’t feel very encouraged. When I left that office I knew I might not be a sabbatarian then, but I figured it was something I should check out myself and keep it to myself at that point of my life. But I begin finding books and reading every thing I could find about that subject and the subject of Feast, and many other subjects that follow the ten words, I could still see well enough at that time to read books. I compared what I was reading with what the bible said, I am now a sabbatarian. I have not gone back and told the priest that I am, but I think he may have guessed by now. This web site has become very important to me because it helped me decide and the things said can be proved in the bible. Opinion is not presented as fact. Tsiyon.org is how I found out about the faithful remnant. Knowing that, answered many questions about things that happened in my life. I was raised in the church, attending and participating in the church, my whole life; and knew nothing of God’s people before BC and the years immediately after.
In Isaiah 9:6-7 tells us that Yeshua was sent to His people Israel and God’s kingdom will be upon his shoulders. This kingdom will be upon David’s throne, it can only be Israel. These are very powerful verses in what they say and what they do not say. It doesn’t say that he will rule over the church with it’s man made rules. These words from Isaiah are reconfirmed in Luke 1:31-33 and again in Yeshua’s own words to his disciples in Luke 22:28-30.
A covenant has been made in Matthew 26:27-28. Yeshua told his disciples after he had taken the cup and given thanks, to drink all of it. “For this is my blood of the new covenant which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” This is the covenant that was prophesied in Jeremiah 31:31-33. In that scripture the Father says that he will make this covenant with the whole house of Israel and he will put his law in our inward parts and write it on our hearts and He will be our God and we will be His people. Those words are so full of comfort, just writing them, give me comfort.
There is no chance of the Father forsaking Israel. In Jeremiah 31:35-37 He said He would only cease the seed of Israel from being a nation, if the ordinances depart from before him The ordinances that He set in place, of the sun that gives a light by day and the moon and stars that give a light by night, which diviedeth the sea when the waves there of roar. The Father says that if heaven above can be measured and the foundations of the earth searched out beneath, then he will cast off all the seed of Israel for all that they have done. Paul reminds his fellow believers in Romans 11:1-4 that God will not abandon his people. How Elias felt all alone and feared for his life and the Father comforted him by telling him, he was not alone, that the Father had 7,000 men who had not bowed the knee to baal. I wonder how many women and children there may have been. Sometime we do feel very alone but we are not. Paul, in Romans 11:5 tells us that the Father has set aside a remnant of Israel.
Romans 11:17-18 tells us that you can join Israel. You can be grafted in to the olive tree of Israel. We are there by Gods wonderful Grace. Yeshua’s blood, the blood of the covenant that puts his word in our inward parts and has written his word in our hearts, has enabled us to have a personal relationship with him, how blest we are. The joy is so very great.
