Decline of the House Of David #31
Posted by TsiyonAug 12
[60 mins in mp3] This On the Road to Tsiyon radio program is on the theme: “The Decline of the House of David”. It is another installment in our on-going study into Messiah’s title; “Son of David.” This segment focuses on the history of the Tribe of Judah from the Persian period until the time of Messiah, with emphasis on how and why the House of David went into decline during that period. You will also learn how events during the so-called “inter-testamental period’ shaped the world into which Messiah was born. One interesting point in the program reveals why the Rabbinical chronology of the Persian period was deliberately altered by 165 years. You will surely be amazed as you learn the facts about why the so-called “Jewish Year” is short by at least 165 years!

Wow, I learned a lot of history between the period of Malchi and the birth of the Messiah. A lot of information that I didn’t know. Very good insight to have.
I am really enjoying these teachings on the house of David.
Also I really like the music in this program, How can I purchase the cd with the song
“How long O Lord” is this by David Brown? What about the rest of the songs on this program? Are they also by David Brown?

One more thing to add>so this is where the Jewish calendar comes up with 5756 or whatever it yr it is today declared in the Jewish world today. So we are missing some yrs b/c of a group of rabbis wanted to mess with historical records to cover something up? To make the timing appear to be off in Daniel’s prophecy concerning the timimg of Yeshua’s birth? Was this to make the Jews disbelieve that Yeshua is the Messiah, b/c of the timing appeared to be off.> (to make appear) to the Jewish people not to hold the Word of God as truth. Wow new insight that I learned today.
His Word IS truth, Thankfully, Yahweh can work through all things.

Amos speaks of a time that the house of David will be restored. Is’nt that time near?

This presentation on the Decline of the House of David helps clarify the missing information during the inter-testament period and why there is a difference in Jewish Rabbinical recording of time. I can’t help but want to jump out of my skin when I see the detail of which our Heavenly Father does things. The fact that through the study of Daniel one can pinpoint the coming of Messiah is beyond incredible. And that those records were doctored in my opinion only proves there was something that the Rabbi’s wanted hidden. I also finally realized why the Scriptures were in Greek and why that would have been important for ALL of the children of Yah. I now see it as the Great Mercy of Yahweh that the Scriptures were translated into Greek, which is different than my prior opinion that so many of our problems were due to the inaccurate translating or just the fact that we don’t know Hebrew and what an amazing language Yahweh spoke to His Covenant People. It has been a great balance in seeing the necessity and mercy involved in a translation of language for the entire world, especially since the House of Israel (10 Tribes) were already in Diaspora and most likely by this time were Greek speaking. You make a statement that I am struggling with right now and that is that 1st & 2nd Maccabees was “not inspired.” The more I study the History of the Bible, the more I question “those who determined what would be considered “inspired,” and what wouldn’t be. I have studied many of the earlier writings that were not included for a variety of reasons, and many I feel add insight without any conflict whatsoever, Jasher being one. Anyway, I haven’t thoroughly studied Maccabees but what I have read so far seems to be in line with scriptures….anyway, food for thought. Thanks again for an enlightening history lesson.

This was a great teaching. I was in need of this greatly, as I have been unable to fill in this gap of time when studying. I had concluded that I would have to find some writings specific to this time period, which I had not located up to this point. I am very curious abou the 165 years that are missing and hope that you will be teaching on it in future lessons. Perhaps you have this information in Holy Time - I have not been able to finish reading it completly yet.

Amazing to see how Yahweh works. This piece of the “Big Picture” is crucial. It is interesting how the order of events needed to be present for the Scriptures to find their way into the World.I always thought the Greek scriptures came later than we find here. And the journey through the years leading up to Yeshua is awesome for context. It really makes the World seem small ,and well controlled to see how these years played out, and fufilled the Prophecies of Daniel.
Blessings to all

When the prophets go silent, the Word is suppressed,
“inter-testamental period”, describes this the best!
Malachi spoke, remember the law,
the messenger will come, to restore it for all!
The prophets go silent, for years upon end,
till JohnB comes along, calling Yeshua a friend!
Period of time, known as 400 silent years,
under Persian control, until the Greeks do appear!
The visions of Daniel, given in his dreams,
amazingly accurate, causing Rabbi’s to scheme!
Doctoring the times, destroying the facts,
to discredit Messiah, tho’ God’s time is exact!
The House of David regroups, falls on the decline,
The Greeks and the Romans, subdue the Davidic line!
Greeks with their writings, education to classes,
the Roman control, to harness the masses!
Learning from scholars, the Word goes to print,
Romans advance, to home the Greeks sent!
Greeks translate the Word, the Bible unfolds,
witnessing comes with the use of new Roman roads!
Jewish culture becomes, a conglomerate mix,
time for Yeshua, Yahweh has the fix!
Put the law on your minds, write it to heart,
spreading the good news of God, we must do our part!

History is not my strong point. All those dates etc…There definitely has been a lot of tampering by the ancient rabbis. Just like when they removed the names of Yahweh and Yahshua out of the scriptures and substituted pagan titles God and Lord and Jesus. The tampering of historical and scriptural manuscripts is just another tactic of the enemy to deceive the people. One point, the lunar/solar calendar that was used in Yahshua’s time, was replaced by the greco/roman calendar. Even the exile calendar that is commonly used is not a true reckoning of Yahweh’s times and seasons. Assimilation to avoid persecution?
One thing I have learned is that the powerful of the world want to keep the common people under their thumbs. This has manifested over and over again throughout history. I believe this is why when Yahshua silenced the religious leaders of His day, the common people rejoiced.
I believe that it behooves us to proceed with caution when studying any of the ancient documents when establishing doctrine, i.e., talmud, masoretic text, maacabees I & II… I do not think we should discount all of any of these documents; but measure what they contain with the scriptures that we have at our disposal. To me, biblical translations should include hebrew and aramic definitions. The Septuagint, being a greek translation, must be handled with care; the greek language does not have the words to accurately describe what is being comveyed by the writers like hebrew or aramic could.
the House of David went into obscurity for a purpose. One explanation might be for the preservation of the line…If Yahweh hid 7000 prophets from the evil queen Jezebel; perhaps He preserved the line by obscuring them. I do not know, just a thought.
Thanks for the beautiful music!

Again I am struck by the faithfulness of those individuals throughout history who refuse to bow down to Satan and all of the false gods the world invents over the millennia, (referring here to the Maccabees). The wonderful thing is that even though history may “forget” most of these individuals, Yahweh doesn’t forget them. Even the lowliest one who gives his life in faithfulness to Yahweh, his/her name is remembered and is written in the Book Of Life.
I love the way Yahweh directs the affairs of men into His ultimate plan for us and the world. Nothing ever gets so far off track that He is not able to redirect it. The story about Alexander the Great praising Yahweh because of the dream Yah gave him concerning the High Priest of Israel, how cool is that. Could Zeus have done something like that?…don’t think so!
Forever praising Yah and Yeshua, His Glorious Son!
Shalom,
Don

I’ve acquired new understanding as a result of this program. The quotation from Josepheus now explains why Alexander the great was favorable to the Jews. I’ve heard this elsewhere in the past but now this ancient writing answers some questions I had. How Yahweh works His will is awesome. Through this teaching I can better understand His orchestrating events and turning men to fulfill His will. Also the history which allowed Herod to come to power is very useful to understand.

Well things just keep making more sense. I love piecing scripture together chronologically. I have enjoyed learning so much about David that I really never thought I would get to learn.
It blew my mind that the rabbis covered up 165 years of history! They doctored the books. Wow!
It amazed me that just the little that Ive learned in thinking Hebraically, thru these lessons, has opened scripture in a totally different way. We do have to DIG and pray and Dig and pray.
I disliked history when I was growing up. It was my least favorite subject. God has definetely changed my mind about that in the last few years thru teaching my kids. He is history, He is time, He is everything. I can now teach my kids “MORE” on Alexander the Great.
That was neat seeing how everything that Alexander and Antiochus and Heircanus did was preparing the way for Messiah and the spread of the Good News. Nothing happens by accident.
All of the things going on in this period was Yahwehs plan. Even thru rebellion He makes a clear path for His plan to move forward.
The prophecys were neat to “see” also. Thank you.

I find myself wondering if that is general knowledge to the jewish people of what the rabbis did by erasing all those years. So, I’m assuming that if the calendar had not been messed with, that Daniel’s prophecy would have hit Yeshua’s birth exactly. Wow. This should be headline news - in a more perfect world.
It was also such insightful information to have those silent years in the Scriptures filled in a little. It’s just amazing to see how things were lining up for the arrival of the messiah back then. And, things are lining up for the messiah’s second return in this day.

So much to learn in this program! The interference of the rabbis to cover up what they did not want the people to know is just one more example of the machinations of evil men. Yet another example of men (and women) who want us to believe what they believe and so distort and cover up the truth. The way that they manage to get away with it for so long is astounding! How everything keeps coming together as more truths are revealed.
There is nothing new, what was then is now. Keep revealing the truth Eliyahu, we need to hear it.

Very interesting was the revelation that approximately 165 years were deliberately removed from the Jewish record of history. Why? To suppress the knowledge of Christ/Messiah by making it appear that He could not be the Messiah by virtue of the fact that He was not born at the right time in accordance with the prophecy of Daniel. One can see clearly to what lengths the leaders have gone to to suppress the truth. This is certainly true to the condemnation given them by our Lord and fully in accord to what was revealed in the lesson on the way of the Pharisees.
Interesting was also the section of Josephus in which we learn that it was a dream in which the high priest appeared telling him to come over and attack Persia and promising him success that moved Alexander to undertake the campaign which led to the spread of Greek language and culture throughout the ancient world. This led to a translation of the Tanach into Greek which made it readily available to a very large population. Thus was one hindrance to the spread of the Gospel removed.
The split of the people into two parties - the Hasidim and the pro-Hellenic faction - was a further effect of the Greek occupation of Judea. A terrible time of persecution occurred under Antiochus Ephiphanes who attempted to force hellenization upon all his subjects. He went so far as to defile the Temple, even placing a statue of Zeus in it.
This tyranny led to a successful revolt led by the Hasmoneans, a priestly family, Levites and, therefore, not from the family of David. They then ruled, eventually even as king. One, John Aristobulus, forcefully converted the Edomites which would later lead to Herod being crowned king of Judea.
That the house of David would decline is apparent from prophecy. For example, the prophecy about the Branch coming from the stump of Jesse, well, this is a stump - the living tree has been cut off. Or the prophecy in Amos which speaks of the Tent of David being reestablished and the breeches repaired, well, the tent has to be in pretty bad shape for that to be applicable.
Praise be to God Almighty.
