Stay in the Renewed Covenant #56
Posted by TsiyonJan 26
The night before His death Yeshua the Messiah instituted a renewed covenant with a renewed Israel, represented by its tribal heads. That night He explained to those leaders how life under the Renewed Covenant would be very different from all that had come before. He told them about new endowments they would receive in the Renewed Covenant as well as setting out what was most important. His comments remind us of Jeremiah 31:34; “and they shall teach no more every man his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, Know YHWH; for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.” That night He told His Talmidim how they could realize that prophetic promise to truly know God and what that would mean for them - and for us. Perhaps most important of all, He told them what they and we must do to Stay in the Renewed Covenant.

Eliyahu Ben David
I have to say, this is the BEST interpretation of John 14 I have heard. I find it is often the case that when we think heaven, Yeshua is thinking present or soon to be happening “realities.”
In fact, I think this whole series on the Kingdom has been invaluable. Again, the Kingdom is something concrete and present today. It is the governmental bodies that Jesus has established in the 12 (to rule the 12 tribes) and the 70 (for the council of elders). These groups, whether Israel recognized it at that time or not, were the true governing bodies over the Land.
I assume I am summarizing you correctly/
Now, if true, let me expand that a bit here.. What if the ekklesia established by Paul were the true Kingdom governing bodies over the Gentile lands. In other words, all authority over heaven and earth were given to Yeshua, and he has appointed the Twelve/70 over Israel and the ekklesia over the rest. This “rulership” though is one of service rather than one of “lording it over.”
In the first century, ekklesia was the local assemblies that governed the cities under Rome. Might they not be the same for us, to “govern” or serve our local area under Messiah Jesus?
In a way, maybe the “parish” concept of the Catholic Church reflects this understanding. What do you think?

Caine,
Thanks for taking time to comment. I am delighted to see that you have grasped that Y’shua established a real government over Israel. Bravo! As to your summary of my teaching on this particular nugget, it is pretty good, although I need to make one clarification that I think will help you as you progress through the other programs. You said; “These [governing] groups [established by Messiah], whether Israel recognized it at that time or not, were the true governing bodies over the Land.” This would be 100% correct if you had said; “These [governing] groups [established by Messiah], whether Israel recognized it at that time or not, were the true governing bodies over the NATION.”
This may look like nit picking at first, but actually there is a very big difference between governing a “land” i.e. country and governing a NATION. A country has territorial boundaries. A nation in the Biblical sense does not. Instead, a nation is a group of people descended from one common ancestor and in practical terms can also include others who have joined themselves to that core ethnic group. The nation of Israel is called that because these are the descendants of the patriarch, Israel/Jacob. By its very nature Israel remains a nation whether gathered in the land of Israel or scattered throughout the earth. The government that Messiah established was over the PEOPLE Israel in covenant with YHWH, no matter where they may live.
This points the way to the flaw in the theory you put forward about Paul. The crux of the misunderstanding there is this: the ecclesia does not refer to a gentile group apart from Israel, as you have probably always been taught. The ecclesia and the “assembly” or “congregation” of Israel are the same in the OT and the NT. There is no approved separate gentile body. Gentile believers are to be grafted into Israel, not into something else. Actually, the “church” maintaining itself as a separate group from believing Israel is in rebellion against the kingdom as established by Messiah. Many in the “church” don’t mean to be in rebellion. They just don’t know the truth about the kingdom. That’s why I’m here with this message!
This is all explained in detail beyond doubt as you continue through the rest of the programs. When you get to the 10 or so programs about James the Just it will absolutely reformat the HDD in your head. New OS as well. All the best with that!

Ahh. The distinction you make between Land and Nation is perfect! I think something of the sort was jangling around in my head for awhile. You may have saved me some weeks of re-orientation in this.
May I quote you on this at my own website. I will link to here.

Caine, I’m glad that helped. What I am teaching on is an entirely new paradigm in the modern age being recovered from the first century. This paradigm shift is not easy to make today. I’m slightly amazed at how quickly you were able to grasp that distinction! Feel free to quote anything on this site. A link is appreciated.

[…] Yet being joined to Israel has very little to do with the Land of Israel. This point was driven home to me after I had some interaction with the Messianic teacher, Eliyahu ben David, at his website tsiyon.org. In discussing his absolutely marvelous exposition of John 14:1-7 here, I had made an application that split the governance of Israelites to the Land and the Gentile ecclesia to the rest of the planet. He accurately skewered that line of reasoning as follows: As to your summary of my teaching on this particular nugget, it is pretty good, although I need to make one clarification that I think will help you as you progress through the other programs. You said; “These [governing] groups [established by Messiah], whether Israel recognized it at that time or not, were the true governing bodies over the Land.” This would be 100% correct if you had said; “These [governing] groups [established by Messiah], whether Israel recognized it at that time or not, were the true governing bodies over the NATION.” […]

Greetings to all,
Awesome hour on the Renewed Covenant. And I must say that it was the best teaching on the Holy Spirit I have received. It is important to grasp what Yeshua is saying here. There was so much purpose to his Death. It was necessary for him to prepare the path and show us a Lasting ordinance to follow Him to the Father. This is so comforting today with the trouble we face to know that he wants to be in us and left us such Councilor to guide us through History. It really gives new insight to the term “Truth Seeker”. This hour really resonated with me.It explains the sense of peace that truth gives you.And why,as Yeshua promised “his peace to us” as we seek to come closer to him than he too and the Father will draw closer to us.If I have this right……
But the second thing that really resonated with me was”Am I bringing forth Fruit for him”……..I think this is a question for all of us to ask though. But it is a strong suggestion that we try to show his light in the world, and not be hypocrites with sour tongues and the like in the process. This can be a tall order if you are surprised by the conditions in the World. But with truth dialed in you can have some insight to what’s coming through the scriptures and the voice of truth. This is ,I think, a part of “His Peace” that he offers to us.It is one thing to go through strange times. It is another to know they are coming. Then you are on more solid ground to stand firm in your faith, and not be shaken when trouble comes your way. I pray daily for the insight I need to let Yeshua work in me and through me.I pray that I can be a symbol for Him and the Father.
Blessings to all
Fred

Very good program. If we keep Yahweh’s commandments, then we stay in His love. Yeshua links together, that, if we ask anything in His Name(we receive) as long as we are loving Him and keeping His commandments. It is in harmony with us loving Him.
We need to stay in the Vine(Yeshua) to bear fruit for the kingdom so they can bear fruit for the kingdom.
I like the the part where E said…….
The Father is the Farmer
Yeshua is the True Vine
and we are the branches. (all fits together).
Thank U for another great message.

We are to stay, in the Father’s Temple,
where Yeshua instructs, and we are the pupils!
Get to know Messiah, a personal relationship,
not the way of this world, not always so hip!
When the light reflects, and you will shine,
illuminate the word, and you will find,
an occasional person, who just may listen,
hear what is said, pay close attention,
you will learn of the Word, which comes from above,
especially the meaning of the holy word, love!
Yeshua says “If you love…”, there is committment,
“If you love Me, keep My Commandments!”
One verse, I believe, we can’t hear enough,
to the sunday christians, these words can be rough!
How can it be, we have been wrong for so long?
The curse of the tribes, had been prolonged!
The curse is now over, must learn to repent,
the Festivals of Yah are fun, especially tents!
You will be amazed, at what you will learn,
the Holy Spirit is truth, we must all discern!
Stay in the Father’s love, implies personal choice,
a loving connection to Messiah, we must rejoice!
His care for us is greater, than the love for Himself,
walk with Messiah, take a look at yourself!

Yahshua perfectly revealed the Father to His disciples. Jochanan the Beloved writes with such spiritual insight into Yahshua and the Abba Yahweh’s character. The love and compassion the Messiah had for us that He prepared His emmisaries for what was to come. The promise of the Ruach Hakodesh to come and dwell with us; that we might continue in His love. Abiding with us, guiding us, correcting us, empowering us to do the works He did while on earth that we might reveal the Father to others.
Obediance is the key. Keep ourselves built up with praying in the Ruach Hakodesh (Jude 20). Bearing fruit for the Kingdom to the glory of Abba Yahweh and our Messiah who showed us the way. Making the right choice to stay in Him will produce the fruit that will remain.

I feel that John 15 is manifesting in my life now. I believe I am being pruned by the Father so that I may be more fruitful in my walk with Messiah.
I have recognized (unfortunately from many past experiences) that I am
“a runner”. Not as an athlete runs but as one who is constantly looking for something better in life. That is not necessarily a bad thing as long as it is what YHWH is telling me to do. All too often I made a major move in my life without first seeking His will. Thinking to myself that “this way is the best way or that way is best”, without seeking Him first. After many years of frustration and monetary expense trying to direct my own path, I have finally learned how to STAY. (I agree with Eliyahu, it is a process.) This is very tough for a “runner” like me. It wasn’t anything for me to just pick up and move, mostly for a new job. Always looking for the greener grass on the other side of the fence.
I was not staying where He said to stay. In fact I wasn’t hearing from Him at all. Well the truth is, I wasn’t listening. I had convinced myself I was listening to Him because the thing, at the time, seemed logically the right thing to do. I wasn’t staying put, physically, because I wasn’t staying in Him spiritually.
For the past 5 years I have stayed put. When everything in me (except Him) is telling me to run, I have stayed. I have stayed in a place where I don’t want to be and in a job I dislike. For the past 5 years He has taught me to listen and to STAY. I can honestly say, it is so nice to hear Him speak to me again.
I find it interesting that He has not crushed “the runner” in me. I believe eventually He will use that characteristic for His Kingdom. I feel like a race horse in the starting gate waiting for it to open. In the past I would have jumped over the gate or worse kicked it open. Now I am waiting for Him to open it. (A very tough thing to do.)
Eliyahu points out that we get to choose if we STAY in Messiah or not. We can choose to be the branch growing from Him, the vine. We get to choose. I had to choose to STAY in Him, keeping His commandments and to love one another. With Him anything is possible!
Shalom,
Don

GREETINGS AND SALUTATIONS TRIBESMAN!!!! After hearing this message, all I have to say is one thing: STAY!!!!! From now on, when I read John 14, I can share with folk what Yeshua was REALLY talkin bout; STAYING!! When the scriptures are explained correctly, (like Eliyahu does), it makes the word of God SOOOO EASY to LIVE day by day. These fake faith preachers who “name it and claim it” and “say it and spray it”, have perverted the sacred word of YAhweh, by saying that Jesus dont see your sin no more because of GRACE!!! To them, its all about “JUST ASK JESUS FOR ANYTHING AND BELIEVE IT, AND HE’LL GIVE YOU WHATEVER YOU WANT!!!! But what they NEVER tell you is the fact that the scripture says, “IF you STAY in me, and my words STAY in you, you shall ask what you will, and it shall be done to you.” (John 15:7) Thats a big IF buddy. You cant run around doin just anything you want and expect this easy greasy sleezy grace thing to cover your unrighteous tail!!! It aint happenin!!!!! Ive seen this man made version of grace completly destroy a good friend of mine!! It hurts me so much, and I have cried like a baby because of the deception of this HORRIBLE TEACHING FROM HELL!!! PLEASE, PLEASE, hear my cry. You must understand what Messiah is saying to His Talmidim and to us!!! IF we dont STAY in Him, He will not STAY in us!!!! I dont care how many times you shout, holler, scream, dance, run around, and jump up and down and turn flips, If you dont LIVE LIKE OUR MASTER, all that junk aint do you any good. Be a fruit bearer!! Thats what He’s lookin at!!! Are you out to further the kingdom, or you out to further your own selfish, wicked ways?!!!!!! I love you enough to tell you the TRUTH, and not tell you some kind of FAIRYTAIL FROM HELL!!! WAKE UP AND TURN TO YAHWEH AND STAY IN HIM!!!!! DAVKAT

This is the most revealing interpretation of John 14 and 15 I’ve ever heard. Wow this really shows The Father and The Son’s relationship and how they long to establish the same with any men who are willing to love them as they love us. If we love Him by keeping His commandments we will share in that fellowship and receive the blessings He has promised us. I can’t help but mention during my devotional reading today I read Deuteronomy 29:29 ” The secret things belong unto the Lord our God: but those things which are revealed belong unto us and our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.” With that in mind I can’t help but think as we “stay” ( I confirmed just three of these words in Greek: mansions, continue, and abide which as you say means” to stay”) Yeshua will reveal more to us as we go along that His talmadim will do those greater works as Yahweh has ordained as His progressive purpose in that He is glorified. May we all stay in Yeshua that we bare much fruit that we would glorify both The Father and The Son.

Staying in the Renewed Covenant: Obedience and love. If we love Yeshua, we will obey Him. We are to love one another the way He loved us, giving His life for us. He is the vine; we are the branches; the Father is the husbandman. As long as we remain in Yeshua - walking with Him, obeying Him - we will bear fruit and the Father will prune us that we bring even more fruit. (Here is the theme of organic growth again.) Those who remain not will wither and die only to be gathered up and burned. If we love Yeshua, we will obey Him, keeping also the new commandment to love one another as He loved us and gave His life for us. (This is so very important I don’t mind repeating it.) By this the world would know that we are the talmidim of Yeshua. Is not our obedience also a part of the fruit that we would bear? Is not our obedience also that by which YHWH would be glorified? O God, bring your people together!
