He then went about heralding the arrival of the Kingdom and fulfilling the Messiah's task of healing and liberating. He also appointed 12 emissaries/apostles analogous to the heads of the 12 tribes and then later 70 analogous to the 70 elders who were anointed to help Moses judge Israel. I now understand these things and praise God for the teaching of His Word! Here we are shown how Yeshua reestablished the Davidic Kingdom. I suppose that it didn't occur to them to count the disciples or the other 70, and consider the significance. I guess the same thing goes on today, though. People fail to put 2 and 2 together when they see all of these things coming together that were prophesied. The pattern didnt change and the prophecies all pointed to the very things Messiah came to do. He truly fullfilled what He came to do, something i didnt fully understand. Im so grateful that God has shown me so much of scripture and that i have a wise teacher. I dont think i ever really understood that Messiah was establishing his physical kingdom. I too thought of it as a spiritual thing. I have a new perspctive on the 12 and learned new things about the 70. I didnt understand before why the 12 would be judging in the New Jerusalem with the 12 tribal heads becgause i didnt understand why Messiah chose the 12 in the first place. Knowing that it was abotut establishing His kingdom makes it all tie together and perfect sense. I had always been taught that the old covenant was thrown away and we didnt need to focus on it. I had been taught that the Kingdom was some spiritual thing. That it is righteousness, peace and joy. Romans 14:17. (surely that is part of it.) By extension, belonging to the Kingdom or being of the Kingdom there is righteousness, peace and joy associated with it. And you receive these things as a benefit of living in the Kingdom. I have to confess I have not focused on the "Kingdom" in Yeshuas message ,in this way before. I had fun with this information with a couple of co-workers.I asked them about the Kingdom message to see if they had got the news.Same as me ,they missed the memo too.How can this be? I mean "King" is in songs,"His Kingdom Come" in the Lords prayer.I have said it but never took it to heart I guess. I have really had to slow down on this hour and the next.I had to spend some time with Isaiah and then listen again. As I see it Isaiah had to be to the Jew in 700ish BC forward what Revelation is to us today.They knew to look for a set of signs.I am sure there was plenty of commentary and debate about what to look for.But when the moment of truth came,no pun intended,they missed it.But not all of them of course.Some greatly rejoiced,and now I am starting to understand why.They knew what they were to look for as children of God.And were eager to herald his arival. Great tie in to the 70 from the Torah as well.It gives another example of his commitment to Torah.This is another great part of his ministry to share with others of the "lukewarm" persuation.It shows that there was much work to be done for Yeshua.
