“Speak to the sons of Israel, saying, ‘In the seventh month, on the first day (Heb. yom) of the month, shall be a solemn rest to you, a memorial of blowing of shofars (Heb. teruah, lit. clamor, noise, shouting), a holy meeting.” Leviticus 23:24
Sundown this evening, of the 26th of September, begins the first day of the seventh month: Yom Teruah! [Day of Shofars – Day of Trumpets, Day of Shouting] Yom Teruah begins the ten “days of awe” that culminate in Yom Kippur [Day of Atonement] on the tenth of the month. These ten days are a time for making peace with others, self-examination, and repentance. Here is the most exciting thing about Yom Teruah: This day is a joyful rehearsal for the day Messiah returns ..so let’s make some noise!
Happy Yom Teruah!
As we begin this 7th month of the Biblical year all of us here at Tsiyon wish you and your loved ones a blessed and set-apart Yom Teruah! Happy day of shouting, trumpets, Yom Teruah and the “day that nobody knows!”
Tsiyon began posting study materials and radio programs in 2006 and we have been faithfully adding quality Scripture-study materials ever since. While that growth makes a great resource it can also mean folks need to know exactly where to look or need to dig deeply in order to find just the item(s) they are trying to discover. Want to know what the timing of the Sabbaths are during the 7th month? How about the significance of Yom Teruah? Mail us for a copy of previous Tsiyon News editions on the topic.
In addition, this month Eliyahu will be teaching on the calendar, answering calendar questions, and sharing more details about the 7th month appointments/moedim. Hope you will join us, On The Road To Tsiyon, for the new programs regarding YHWH’s calendar and on Tsiyon Road as we celebrate these special appointment times with YHWH together as His set-apart nation.
