Passover Doom and Deliverance #120

Apr-18-2008 By Tsiyon

The day before Messiah’s last Passover on earth He pronounced doom upon that unbelieving generation of Judea, finally saying; “..your house is left to you desolate.” With these words notice was served that YHWH had withdrawn from the Temple and the apostate worship centered there in that generation, leaving the apostates to the doom which was the consequences of their own actions. Immediately following, on Passover eve, Messiah conferred His rightful Kingdom authority in Israel upon the Messianic leaders He had chosen, saying; “I confer on you a kingdom, even as my Father conferred [it] on me.” With these actions Messiah transferred the rightful authority in Israel away from the religious leaders recognized by that religious system and to His followers, the remnant of faithful Israel. The rest of the time in that generation was devoted to a separating of Judea into two groups, the wicked and the righteous, who soon would be manifested as the damned and the delivered. All would choose one side or the other as there could be no middle ground. The historical record as conveyed through the Jewish priest-historian Josephus of what occurred on Passovers following throughout that generation undeniably supports the truthfulness of Messiah’s words. As we examine the historical record you will see that YHWH had, in fact, abandoned the Temple cult and left them to a horrible doom, while delivering the righteous followers of Messiah with a very tangible deliverance from that same doom. All of this is important for us to contemplate on this Passover, since we live in a parallel generation that is also fast moving towards a similar inevitable end with only one of two outcomes possible for each of us - namely, doom or deliverance. (Matthew 23:37-38, Luke 22:29,30)

Lesser-Known Passovers #119

Apr-11-2008 By Tsiyon

The new Torah Year of 6008 is here and Passover quickly approaches. As we know, Passover commemorates the first Passover of Israel coming out of Egypt and finds it’s fulfillment in the sacrifice of the Lamb of God. However, there have been other lesser known Passovers that are both instructive and inspiring to consider. Do you know what happened during the first Passover of Joshua/Y’shua and the first generation of Israel to enter the Promised Land? How about the year the Temple was built? One of my favorites was the Passover called by King Josiah/YoshiYah that was held after Israel had LOST THE TORAH - yes, the Torah was actually lost and forgotten - and then found again! And how about the “revival” and Passover of Hezekiah/Y’chizqiYah that was greater than any Passover of any of the kings of Israel? Do you want an example of “grace” in the “Old Testament”? Then you will love this story! In this program we also answer the question: Is Passover and the Feast of Unleavened Bread together 7 days or 8 days long? Is Passover to be commemorated on the evening of the 14th or the 15th of Aviv? What do the Scriptures say? What does the priest, Josephus, say was the practice in the first century? Listen to this program and get into a Passover state of mind.

James the Just, brother of Messiah, suffered martyrdom about the year 63 CE. According to Josephus, the first century Jewish historian, it was widely believed that the destruction of Jerusalem occurred because of the murder of James the Just! In fact, it is claimed in the historical documents that the murder of James the Just was foretold by the prophet Isaiah and was fulfilled in the demise of the Jewish system in 70 CE at the hands of the Romans. It is remarkable that it was not only Messianic Jews that believed this regarding James the Just. Rather, this belief was widely held generally by all Jews of that era. What was so unique about the martyrdom of Ya’akov HaTsadeek a/k/a James the Just that the Jews would believe the destruction of their Temple, Holy City, and entire Jewish system was due to their treatment of James? In this episode we will consider the historical report of the martyrdom of James the Just. As we consider this report you will be amazed, you will be informed and you will be inspired by the story of this remarkable man of God. His story has a lot more to do with your life today than you could possibly imagine. You need to hear this program!

Son of Man Our Redeemer #67

Apr-13-2007 By Tsiyon

Listener Email Question:  “Today I opened an email teaching from YATI that shocked me! YATI claims that Yahshua was/is not human. Here’s an exact quote that I cut+pasted from the teaching of Rabbi Moshe Yoseph Koniuchowsky that YATI sent to me; Yahshua is not 100 percent YHWH and 100 percent man as most bible believing religions, or sects teach, but is 1 million percent YHWH and 0 percent man. He was cloaked with the features of humanity, BUT was not human in His flesh, spirit, or blood! I want to know: Does Tsiyon teach this too?”

Tsiyon Answer:  No, Tsiyon does not agree that Yeshua was not really a man, for obvious Biblical reasons. If Yeshua was not a man then He was not “Son of David.” If He was not “Son of David” then He could not be Messiah, since the Scriptures make clear that Messiah would be a Son of David and David, of course, was a man (Isaiah 11:1, Matt 1:1, Luke 1:32). Neither can it be said that Yeshua was merely “Son of David” in some sort of symbolic way, for the Scripture specifically says Yeshua “was born of the seed of David according to the flesh” (Romans 1:4). Actually, Yeshua’s favorite title for Himself was “Son of Man” emphasising His true humanity. This is vital to all of us, because we are saved through the sacrifice of Yeshua as a perfect man. If He did not come as a man then we are all still in our sins. Yeshua on earth was known as Son of David - Son of Man - and Son of God. Tsiyon did a series of programs on Yeshua as each of these titles in the Spring of 2006. Anyone with questions about the topic should listen to all of those programs to better understand the identity of Yeshua in all dimensions. This Passover season we are rebroadcasting one of those programs that is especially appropriate which shows why Yeshua had to be a man to save us. This program is called “Son of Man Our Redeemer.”
