On the Shavuot / Pentecost of 33 C.E. amazing events unfolded in Jerusalem. The Holy Spirit filled the talmidim of Yeshua and they all began speaking in other tongues - languages they had never learned to speak. The purpose of this startling gift of the Spirit was to empower those first disciples to communicate with Israelites from every corner of the known world who spoke all of those different native languages and who had traveled to Jerusalem to observe Shavuot there. Those travelers were in awe to hear the good news about Yeshua the Messiah spoken to them each in his own native language by simple country folk from Galilee! Not only that, but they had earlier witnessed unusual signs in the heavens and earth testifying to them of things they did not yet understand. As they wondered at these miracles Peter / Kefa and the rest of the Emissaries boldly explained to them from the prophecies of Joel and David how these signs bore divine witness to Yeshua the Nazarean whom their nation had offered up to be killed, but who had defeated death and sat at the right hand of God in Heaven! Why was all this happening THEN? They were living in the LAST DAYS! Listener Email Question:  “Today I opened an email teaching from YATI that shocked me! YATI claims that Yahshua was/is not human. Here’s an exact quote that I cut+pasted from the teaching of Rabbi Moshe Yoseph Koniuchowsky that YATI sent to me; Yahshua is not 100 percent YHWH and 100 percent man as most bible believing religions, or sects teach, but is 1 million percent YHWH and 0 percent man. He was cloaked with the features of humanity, BUT was not human in His flesh, spirit, or blood! I want to know: Does Tsiyon teach this too?”

Tsiyon Answer:  No, Tsiyon does not agree that Yeshua was not really a man, for obvious Biblical reasons. If Yeshua was not a man then He was not “Son of David.” If He was not “Son of David” then He could not be Messiah, since the Scriptures make clear that Messiah would be a Son of David and David, of course, was a man (Isaiah 11:1, Matt 1:1, Luke 1:32). Neither can it be said that Yeshua was merely “Son of David” in some sort of symbolic way, for the Scripture specifically says Yeshua “was born of the seed of David according to the flesh” (Romans 1:4). Actually, Yeshua’s favorite title for Himself was “Son of Man” emphasising His true humanity. This is vital to all of us, because we are saved through the sacrifice of Yeshua as a perfect man. If He did not come as a man then we are all still in our sins. Yeshua on earth was known as Son of David - Son of Man - and Son of God. Tsiyon did a series of programs on Yeshua as each of these titles in the Spring of 2006. Anyone with questions about the topic should listen to all of those programs to better understand the identity of Yeshua in all dimensions. This Passover season we are rebroadcasting one of those programs that is especially appropriate which shows why Yeshua had to be a man to save us. Throughout His ministry Yeshua the Messiah displayed Kingdom power. He preached the good news of the Kingdom, cast out devils, healed the sick and even raised the dead by that awesome power. In fact, in the greatest display of Kingdom power of all time He even overcame death itself when He Himself was raised from the dead! For a period of forty days after His resurrection He taught His chosen Emissaries about the Kingdom and promised them the same Kingdom power that He had demonstated. As we begin a fresh look at the Acts of the Emissaries we will consider Messiah’s promise of Kingdom power, what that power is, what that power was meant to accomplish, and what He taught them about the Kingdom. We will also consider the “rapture” of Messiah and what that means for the “rapture” of believers. All of this is essential information regarding the foundation of the early believing community and is still fundamentally important for all talmidim / disciples today!

Our primary sources for this teaching are The Gospel According To John and quotations of Jerome from The Gospel According to the Hebrews, an account of the earthly life and resurrection of Messiah Yeshua first written in Hebrew and held sacred within the first century Nazarean community of believers. This source reports on the resurrection appearance of Messiah to His brother, commonly known as James the Just / Yakov HaTsadeek. While Paul affirms that Messiah appeared to Yakov / James after His resurrection this appearance to Yakov / James is not reported on anywhere in the traditional New Testament Scriptures, leaving a significant gap in the NT resurrection report. That makes the resurrection report from The Gospel According to the Hebrews all the more valuable, since it fills in information known to be lacking from the traditional four Gospels. This important information significantly fills out the picture of what happened after the resurrection of Messiah and helps to lay a foundation of understanding of the role of James the Just / Yakov HaTsadeek among the early believers.
