He made from one blood
Acts 17:26 – Genesis 10
Today prophets are often thought of as rather gruff people who can’t get along with anyone. As we look at the record of the first century believers in the book of Acts we get a picture of prophets that is not like that stereotype at all! We will look at examples of prophets who were mature men of God, fully submitted to apostolic leadership, working hard to build up the one Body of Messiah shoulder to shoulder with the apostles. These were faithful men who could be sent out far away by the leadership in Jerusalem with confidence that they would uphold the core values, teachings and authority defined by the men Messiah had chosen to govern His Assembly. Personal ego was not the driving force for these men. Devotion to Messiah and His Kingdom is what motivated them. In times like these when being “first” seems to be everything, such men are highly under-rated, but, as you will see in this program, the Good News may never have gotten much beyond Judea had it not been for the vital ministry of those who were “second” – the faithful prophets!
