What if the Christian Church is not really the movement founded upon Christ and the Apostles in the 1st Century? What if the Christian Church is really a heretical schism that broke away from that original movement later, in a whole other century? What if the schism group eventually became larger than the original group? What if the larger schism rewrote history to appear as if THEY were the original group? Would you be fooled by this bait-and-switch tactic? Which movement would you want to be a part of, the original or the break-away group? Consider the real evidence. In the early centuries A.D. the descendants of David were mostly craftsmen and dirt farmers – hardly a threat to anyone. Yet, the powers of that era felt so threatened by them that even mighty Rome sought to wipe them out. Eusebius, citing the Believing Jewish historian of the second century, Hegesippus, writes: ” .. Vespasian, after the capture of Jerusalem, ordered a search to be made for all who were of the family of David, that there might be left among the Jews no one of the royal family and, for this reason, a very great persecution was again inflicted on the Jews.” Imperial efforts to wipe out the Davidic family occurred in the reigns of Emperors Vespasian, Domitian and Trajan.
