Scripture: Excerpts from Ezekiel Chapter 20, beginning with verse 10: " . . I caused them to go forth out of the land of Egypt, and brought them into the wilderness . . . I said unto their children in the wilderness, Walk ye not in the statutes of your fathers, neither observe their judgments, nor defile yourselves with their idols; I am [YHWH] your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them . . . Notwithstanding the children rebelled against me: they walked not in my statutes, neither kept my judgments to do them, which if a man do, he shall even live in them; they polluted my sabbaths: then I said, I would pour out my fury upon them, to accomplish my anger against them in the wilderness. Nevertheless I withdrew mine hand, and wrought for my name’s sake, that it should not be polluted in the sight of the heathen, in whose sight I brought them forth . . . Because they had not executed my judgments, but had despised my statutes, and had polluted my sabbaths, and their eyes were after their fathers’ idols. we heard the voice inside us and followed where it led.
the years rolled by and all the doctrines we’ve invented
have now led us to nullify the cause for which He bled.
For on the one hand we are told we must obey
yet on the other . . . "His Laws have passed away."
the double standard we are serving, like two masters, has bound us:
and now the lukewarm church is bound to pay.
And the sinners in His Hands will be pliable or ground to sand
The Master Potter’s Hands can make the soft clay useful again
But hardened hearts of men who want a place to serve in the end
must fall upon the Rock and be broken
If we are foolish we’ll continue as if nothing ever changes,
wayward from our birth
If we are wise we’ll seek the Law lest He stay angry
and destroy us, or scatter us again throughout the earth
