Exodus 19:5 All the earth is mine, says YHWH.
What a neat look into the subject of money. I often wondered how gold and silver got it’s value. I knew that things that are rare tend to have intrinsic value but I thought that that was a human thing. I didn’t realize YHWH set that up. This relative value of precious metals is also implied in their use in the temple. There seems to be a hierarchical, as well as a practical, order of the use of each metal (gold, silver, bronze) for its specific purpose. Some metals are better used for other purposes due to their strength and their ability to withstand high temperatures, etc.. The pretty stuff, gold, was used in the ornamental parts of the Ark of the Covenant and other temple things.

I enjoyed Eluyahu’s analysis of Abram’s generosity and humility when dealing with money and the things of value. He didn’t hoard them for himself. He certainly realized that all he had accumulated in his life was from YHWH. He wasn’t acting like the typical rich person. I’m sure he was a good steward of what YHWH gave him, but he didn’t hoard the things. In dealing with the purchase of the burial site for Sarah he dwelt honestly and generously with the people. He is quite an example for us.
“All the earth is mine”, says YHWH. Good words to remember, after all, look who said them.

Shalom,

Very good teaching. I really enjoyed it. Another lesson for us to learn that I haven't heard taught in this way before. Abraham was certainly a wise man.

Thank U E for this great program.

The maker of heaven and earth,
controller of man, created at birth,
establishes truths from days long past,
heavy with riches, longing to last.

Honor, respect and integrity,
leading us through this reality,
displaying our hearts for all to see,
guiding us to blessed eternity.

Yahweh the Landlord
with the way we shall live,
no money to horde,
be willing to give!

Yahweh our King, ruler of earth,
owns everything, especially our birth.
To Him we sing praise, your Word is so true,
In this we must pray, we owe it to You!
