Shalom Eliyahu! So much light shed on Nazerene and Nazerite! Such detailed explanations give us understanding what is written in the Bible and what Adonai is telling us, that easy. Thank you! Hearing from Hebraic roots is exciting! I’ve signed up just recently, so my comments here are really backdated. : )) , just finished the very first 3 articles! I’ve a lot of reading to catch up with. Blessings, Ester

This broadcast was supposed to be one of my free gifts, but even if I sign in, it shows up as “protected.” How do I get this broadcast to listen?

Caine, from this we learn that the walk of the wandering heretic is a lonely walk fraught with many obstacles to the truth. Some are intentional as when promises are made but then withheld to leave the seeker twisting in the wind, unfulfilled and unsatisfied. Others, such as this, are merely one of the myriad of little errors and mistakes that inevitably find their way into the computer code of life. Happily, when you are not turned aside by such obstacles, but act to correct them, you are rewarded with entrance into that bliss of knowledge that you seek. You have done well to forge onward, grasshopper. Now enjoy the fruits of your persistence!

Shalom Tsiyon! That was some hearty spiritual nourishment, boy am I full! Thanks for the big helping! I just had a mental picture of a plant being cut off above it’s root, it is sure to wilt fast and eventually die:>(. Thats like our faith in Messiah but being cut off from the actual Hebraic root of HIS word and our Faith, we are surely wilted or even dead spiritually. But with the Hebraic root restored to us supernaturally we are restored and can retain spiritual nourishment and are being nursed and fed by the milk and the meat of HIS word! HalleluYAH:>)
Shalom, Summer:>)

What an informative lesson. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderfully connected is the plan of Yah and how much He truly wants us to understand that. It is magnificent how each of the parts fit together and make a complete whole picture when you look at through the Language of Yahweh(Hebrew). In one simple word and its root branch out to show us How Yahshua was able to fulfill all of the prophecies about who He would be and from where and why. That level of communication warms my heart deeply.
I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the team aspect of teaching by both of you. I think Yahweh has blessed you both with the ability to teach and I for one am so grateful that you are using it to His Glory…thank you.
And now some personal observations stirred by this lesson. I have never studied the word Nazarene or its root as is mentioned above and was awed by the picture it presents. Another thing that comes to mind is the hand of Yah is so evident in that if the prophecy would have been as simple as He will grow up in Nazareth or will be called a Nazarene indicating that he would be there than just as King Herod ordered all of the infants under two to be killed in Bethlehem, more than likely something would have been done to all of the inhabitants of Nazareth, either before the coming of Messiah - to eliminate the opportunity for coming through the Stump of Jesse, or there would have been a masacre at a later point to ensure the anilation of the Messiah/and or His family. Yahweh’s plan of perfection demonstrated once again, thanks for bringing this teach to light.
Shalom,
Christine

I guess I am amazed the Nazarite people persisted, that is trust in the prophecied word !
It also amazes me that you have been able to put this together in a teaching that helps to open our eyes to see the depth of the scriptures.

What a great study! We are netzers! I understand that netzers are also branches from cut down olive trees that come up from the root some distance from the cut down tree and can come up as much as 1500 years or more from the cutting down of the original tree. We’ve been waiting a long time to start sprouting our olive tree as Nazarene Yisraelites! What a blessing.

Shalom Eliyahu & Dawn:)
I love looking at all the places in the Brit HaChadashah (New Covenant scriptures - aka N.T.) where Yeshua is refered to as Yeshua the Nazarene or Yeshua from Nazareth…it seems that maybe in his day everyone understood what that meant- a fullfillment of the Davidic Covenant just by saying where he was from maybe they understood that he was the promised Messiah?!!! Even the Label above his head when he died for our sins labeled him that…Yeshua of Nazareth, Yeshua the Branch, King of the Jews - Baruch Adonai!!!!
Joh 1:46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
This is the only apparent negative thing said about his lineage , Why? I was wondering what you think? Why did Philip say this?
L’hitratot - until we talk again,
Dinah

Because of a prophecy that Messiah would be Natzratim, Israels faithful established and maintained a community for hundreds of years, The branch of David has many viable meristems. Hezekiah, Zerrubabel, Messiah ,Eliyahu, etc..I know that He is coming soon to gather His people round this holy mountain.

Thanks, everyone, for your wonderful posts! So many great observations here!
ElyDinahprincess asked: “Joh 1:46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. This is the only apparent negative thing said about his lineage. Why? I was wondering what you think? Why did Philip say this?”
We know Nazareth was Messiah’s home town. That makes it a famous and special place to us. However, had we lived in the 1st century and visited Nazareth we would see it as the people then saw it - as a backward, out of the way little place lacking in the wealth and social graces that mark those who are generally considered significant. This place was just so humble, for so long, that nobody (except for the poor whose opinion was easily cast aside) thought anything of any importance could originate there. It truly was a stump, cut off and apparently dried out and used up. This made it a place where the family of David could be hidden in plain sight as too insignificant to bother with, until that cut off stump sprouted a Branch like none other!
This is so like our Father, to use the weak, foolish and despised to confound those who are “wise” in this world. Paul explained this glorious truth of a humble Messiah and what that means to those who believe: “We proclaim Messiah crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Messiah is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble; but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong; and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are: that no flesh should boast before God.” 1Cor 1:23-29
Learn this lesson brethren. When Yah calls you as part of Remnant Israel, do not have regard for the constant voice of the world that has always told you that you are nothing and can never be anything for God. Do not say; “I am too insignificant to be a part of that!” Rather, say; “Praise Yah, who uses even the insignificant such as I to bring Him glory!” Then - step up and answer His call! If greatness could come out of lowly Nazareth then Yah can call forth greatness out of YOU!
Shalom, Eliyahu

Eliyahu, all I can say is WOW!
I never considered researching the terms Nazerene and Nazerite, I admittedly did take them for granted… I most certainly do feel as though I’ve learned some deep hebraic secret.
Thank you and Shalom

My friends,
I thank YHWH for putting my feet on this trail. This is the trail that leads to His high mountain. I am on my way to Tsiyon to serve Him. If He has put it in your heart
to seek Him, then this I can assure you, on this road you will find Him.
I shall be on the trail, somewhere. Watch for me, I will leave signs.

This is a great example of slowing down and diging deeper into the words. So much is missed when we go to quickly.I might point out that in my Study Bible(NIV) there is no notation to Acts 24:5 to explain or expound on the Nazarene sect.I will catch more as I listen to this show again.
Blessings to all
Fred

Paul the ringleader of the Sect of the Nazerenes(Acts24:5), this seemingly insignificant verse is so full of depth in the Hebriac way of thinking!Thanx so much for the insight into the Hebraic minds of the first century. This is totally lost in the New Testament version of Paul changing everything , which He did not, He was EMPHASIZING Yeshua’s teaching. Now if I could only translate this to my believing veiled friends. Bible knowledge goes so much deeper than people are willing to go.I pray Yahweh continues to bless these wonderful truths in your /our ministry.God Bless

I add my joyful response to this lesson, too. Though I have studied things related to Messiah as the “Branch”, I do not recall in 9 years, ever hearing of the origin of Nazareth, the “hidden” “Twigville”! I agree with the observation that it is so like Yah to hide such value in plain sight. The dedication of the House of David to maintain their “set apartness” is clearly blessed! And yes, there is encouragement for those of us who are considered foolish by the world in this!

Having started an online Biblical Hebrew class with the instructor in Israel, I’ve only tasted tidbits of the true richness of the text. A memorable and somewhat humorous enlightenment to share was when one of the instructors questioned why it was that the name Elohim has the masculine plural ending “im” and a student answered “that would be because of the trinity, He is three in one.” It made sense to me. However, our non-believing Jewish instructor was quick to emphasize we were not to discuss any theological issues which led the student to apologize that he was offended. He eventually explained it away as “God is so great, He is referred to in the plural.” I wanted to “raise my hand” in our virtual classroom, and point out, then why is it that God is referred to as Ehad, as One, but I let it go since the tension was so obvious. It was really awesome to see how Yeshua crept right into what they thought were benign verses in the Bereshit. He was there from the beginning. Perhaps that student planted a seed that day.
The Hebrew language is so rich. Eliyahu’s very thorough study proved to be a whole chocolate layer cake dripping in hot fudge. The true and correct translations revealed are just like the golden threads of this intricately woven priceless tapestry. I am so in awe the more I learn. What an incredible gift YHWH’s given us in the scriptures!! Blessings and Shalom, Kim

Sect of the Nazarenes
…that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene. (Matt 2:23)
Far too often when confronted with a challenge in the Scriptures, we either pass over it or set it upon the proverbial shelf. This program was a powerful demonstration of our need to understand the language of the writers of the Bible as well as the power of the Hebrew tongue. How valuable it is for us in the non-Hebrew speaking culture to begin to grasp the depth and descriptive power of this holy language. “For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, That they all may call on the name of the L-RD, To serve Him with one accord (Zephaniah 3:9).
What a joy it is to receive a revelation for the first time! Although many teachers have demonstrated the function of “the Branch” in Messianic prophecy and most are aware of the title “Yeshua of Nazareth”, this is the first time time I have ever heard the term “Nazarene” taught as profoundly more than a geographic descriptor. From the illustration correlating the Hebrew words Nester (Branch) and its root Natsar (keep; guard) Naziyr and its root Nazar (dedicate; consecrate) and the Greek Nazara (”the guarded one”) we truly see the Messiah -
Yeshua Ha Nazarei!
With you on the Walls,
Michael

Shalom! Many Blessings to Tsiyon, Eliyahu and Dawn! This ministry is anointed by the Ruach HaQodesh! Praise be to YHWH for being a covenant making and keeping G-D! The one TRUE G-D! Praise by to YESHUA for being the ultimate blameless sacrifice, our ransom paid in full.
I never understood the correlation of Twigville, Nazareth, Nazarenes, Nazerites, Davidic Nazarites, and the family of David before this program! I remember being told about Jesus of Nazareth, yet he was not born there which baffled me until now. It has always seemed complicated before, yet when you explain this it is like you are turning on the light bulb… the Ah HA moment! For Yeshua to be hidden in plain sight just makes sense and is so like YHWH! Yeshua had to be guarded in order to insure his survival. Nothing is left to chance and all has been planned ahead of time. How enlightening! Thank you for explaining and making this clear to me. I really feel this is the first step to understanding Yeshua’s background.
Still amazed and seeking to learn more.
Shalom!

This was an excellent program, and of course I enjoyed it very much. I found myself going back and hearing or reading the transcript several times. There was so much new information for me to absorb. However it made me think back to the discovery of the “Jesus house” and the announcement last December. In an article on Physorg.com, “The Jews of Nazareth dug camouflaged grottos to hide from Roman invaders, said archaeologist Yardena Alexandre, excavations director at the Israel Antiquities Authority. But the hamlet was so far off the beaten path that the caves were apparently not needed, she said.” The statement was made about the finding of a wall, a hide out, and a cistern of what they believe is a house that existed in Nazareth, at the time of Jesus. According to Physorg.com, Nazareth was “a hamlet of around 50 impoverished Jewish families where Jesus spent his boyhood”.
Interesting as that is, it is not the point of the lesson. For me, I took away from the lesson, how the Father divides, separates, and sets apart His people. Those of the faithful remnant of the House of David were set apart and had purpose, they guarded their linage so that prophesy would be fulfilled in them. We, the faithful remnant of Israel, have a purpose also and we who remain faithful are and will continue to fulfill prophesy.
