Answers to listener feedback, including the distinction made between the Nazarenes and the Sect of the Nazarenes as presented in Scripture. That’s right, the Nazareans already existed before the community of disciples was founded. This program begins to unravel the connection between these two groups. This little known distinction opens up vast new understanding of the early Messianic community. Learn why Messiah was called Yeshua the Nazarean. A key program.

Shalom Eliyahu! So much light shed on Nazerene and Nazerite! Such detailed explanations give us understanding what is written in the Bible and what Adonai is telling us, that easy. Thank you! Hearing from Hebraic roots is exciting! I’ve signed up just recently, so my comments here are really backdated. : )) , just finished the very first 3 articles! I’ve a lot of reading to catch up with. Blessings, Ester

This broadcast was supposed to be one of my free gifts, but even if I sign in, it shows up as “protected.” How do I get this broadcast to listen?

Caine, from this we learn that the walk of the wandering heretic is a lonely walk fraught with many obstacles to the truth. Some are intentional as when promises are made but then withheld to leave the seeker twisting in the wind, unfulfilled and unsatisfied. Others, such as this, are merely one of the myriad of little errors and mistakes that inevitably find their way into the computer code of life. Happily, when you are not turned aside by such obstacles, but act to correct them, you are rewarded with entrance into that bliss of knowledge that you seek. You have done well to forge onward, grasshopper. Now enjoy the fruits of your persistence!

Shalom Tsiyon! That was some hearty spiritual nourishment, boy am I full! Thanks for the big helping! I just had a mental picture of a plant being cut off above it’s root, it is sure to wilt fast and eventually die:>(. Thats like our faith in Messiah but being cut off from the actual Hebraic root of HIS word and our Faith, we are surely wilted or even dead spiritually. But with the Hebraic root restored to us supernaturally we are restored and can retain spiritual nourishment and are being nursed and fed by the milk and the meat of HIS word! HalleluYAH:>)

What an informative lesson. It never ceases to amaze me how wonderfully connected is the plan of Yah and how much He truly wants us to understand that. It is magnificent how each of the parts fit together and make a complete whole picture when you look at through the Language of Yahweh(Hebrew). In one simple word and its root branch out to show us How Yahshua was able to fulfill all of the prophecies about who He would be and from where and why. That level of communication warms my heart deeply.
I would be remiss if I didn’t acknowledge the team aspect of teaching by both of you. I think Yahweh has blessed you both with the ability to teach and I for one am so grateful that you are using it to His Glory…thank you.
And now some personal observations stirred by this lesson. I have never studied the word Nazarene or its root as is mentioned above and was awed by the picture it presents. Another thing that comes to mind is the hand of Yah is so evident in that if the prophecy would have been as simple as He will grow up in Nazareth or will be called a Nazarene indicating that he would be there than just as King Herod ordered all of the infants under two to be killed in Bethlehem, more than likely something would have been done to all of the inhabitants of Nazareth, either before the coming of Messiah - to eliminate the opportunity for coming through the Stump of Jesse, or there would have been a masacre at a later point to ensure the anilation of the Messiah/and or His family. Yahweh’s plan of perfection demonstrated once again, thanks for bringing this teach to light.
Shalom,
Christine

I guess I am amazed the Nazarite people persisted, that is trust in the prophecied word !
It also amazes me that you have been able to put this together in a teaching that helps to open our eyes to see the depth of the scriptures.

What a great study! We are netzers! I understand that netzers are also branches from cut down olive trees that come up from the root some distance from the cut down tree and can come up as much as 1500 years or more from the cutting down of the original tree. We’ve been waiting a long time to start sprouting our olive tree as Nazarene Yisraelites! What a blessing.

Shalom Eliyahu & Dawn:)
I love looking at all the places in the Brit HaChadashah (New Covenant scriptures - aka N.T.) where Yeshua is refered to as Yeshua the Nazarene or Yeshua from Nazareth…it seems that maybe in his day everyone understood what that meant- a fullfillment of the Davidic Covenant just by saying where he was from maybe they understood that he was the promised Messiah?!!! Even the Label above his head when he died for our sins labeled him that…Yeshua of Nazareth, Yeshua the Branch, King of the Jews - Baruch Adonai!!!!
Joh 1:46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see.
This is the only apparent negative thing said about his lineage , Why? I was wondering what you think? Why did Philip say this?
L’hitratot - until we talk again,
Dinah

Because of a prophecy that Messiah would be Natzratim, Israels faithful established and maintained a community for hundreds of years, The branch of David has many viable meristems. Hezekiah, Zerrubabel, Messiah ,Eliyahu, etc..I know that He is coming soon to gather His people round this holy mountain.

Thanks, everyone, for your wonderful posts! So many great observations here!
ElyDinahprincess asked: “Joh 1:46 And Nathanael said unto him, Can there any good thing come out of Nazareth? Philip saith unto him, Come and see. This is the only apparent negative thing said about his lineage. Why? I was wondering what you think? Why did Philip say this?”
We know Nazareth was Messiah’s home town. That makes it a famous and special place to us. However, had we lived in the 1st century and visited Nazareth we would see it as the people then saw it - as a backward, out of the way little place lacking in the wealth and social graces that mark those who are generally considered significant. This place was just so humble, for so long, that nobody (except for the poor whose opinion was easily cast aside) thought anything of any importance could originate there. It truly was a stump, cut off and apparently dried out and used up. This made it a place where the family of David could be hidden in plain sight as too insignificant to bother with, until that cut off stump sprouted a Branch like none other!
This is so like our Father, to use the weak, foolish and despised to confound those who are “wise” in this world. Paul explained this glorious truth of a humble Messiah and what that means to those who believe: “We proclaim Messiah crucified; a stumbling block to Jews, and foolishness to Greeks, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Messiah is the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. For you see your calling, brothers, that not many are wise according to the flesh, not many mighty, and not many noble; but God chose the foolish things of the world that he might put to shame those who are wise. God chose the weak things of the world, that he might put to shame the things that are strong; and God chose the lowly things of the world, and the things that are despised, and the things that are not, that he might bring to nothing the things that are: that no flesh should boast before God.” 1Cor 1:23-29
Learn this lesson brethren. When Yah calls you as part of Remnant Israel, do not have regard for the constant voice of the world that has always told you that you are nothing and can never be anything for God. Do not say; “I am too insignificant to be a part of that!” Rather, say; “Praise Yah, who uses even the insignificant such as I to bring Him glory!” Then - step up and answer His call! If greatness could come out of lowly Nazareth then Yah can call forth greatness out of YOU!
Shalom, Eliyahu

This is a great example of slowing down and diging deeper into the words. So much is missed when we go to quickly.I might point out that in my Study Bible(NIV) there is no notation to Acts 24:5 to explain or expound on the Nazarene sect.I will catch more as I listen to this show again.
Blessings to all

Paul the ringleader of the Sect of the Nazerenes(Acts24:5), this seemingly insignificant verse is so full of depth in the Hebriac way of thinking!Thanx so much for the insight into the Hebraic minds of the first century. This is totally lost in the New Testament version of Paul changing everything , which He did not, He was EMPHASIZING Yeshua’s teaching. Now if I could only translate this to my believing veiled friends. Bible knowledge goes so much deeper than people are willing to go.I pray Yahweh continues to bless these wonderful truths in your /our ministry.God Bless

I add my joyful response to this lesson, too. Though I have studied things related to Messiah as the “Branch”, I do not recall in 9 years, ever hearing of the origin of Nazareth, the “hidden” “Twigville”! I agree with the observation that it is so like Yah to hide such value in plain sight. The dedication of the House of David to maintain their “set apartness” is clearly blessed! And yes, there is encouragement for those of us who are considered foolish by the world in this!

Having started an online Biblical Hebrew class with the instructor in Israel, I’ve only tasted tidbits of the true richness of the text. A memorable and somewhat humorous enlightenment to share was when one of the instructors questioned why it was that the name Elohim has the masculine plural ending “im” and a student answered “that would be because of the trinity, He is three in one.” It made sense to me. However, our non-believing Jewish instructor was quick to emphasize we were not to discuss any theological issues which led the student to apologize that he was offended. He eventually explained it away as “God is so great, He is referred to in the plural.” I wanted to “raise my hand” in our virtual classroom, and point out, then why is it that God is referred to as Ehad, as One, but I let it go since the tension was so obvious. It was really awesome to see how Yeshua crept right into what they thought were benign verses in the Bereshit. He was there from the beginning. Perhaps that student planted a seed that day.
The Hebrew language is so rich. Eliyahu’s very thorough study proved to be a whole chocolate layer cake dripping in hot fudge. The true and correct translations revealed are just like the golden threads of this intricately woven priceless tapestry. I am so in awe the more I learn. What an incredible gift YHWH’s given us in the scriptures!! Blessings and Shalom, Kim

Sect of the Nazarenes
…that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, He shall be called a Nazarene. (Matt 2:23)
Far too often when confronted with a challenge in the Scriptures, we either pass over it or set it upon the proverbial shelf. This program was a powerful demonstration of our need to understand the language of the writers of the Bible as well as the power of the Hebrew tongue. How valuable it is for us in the non-Hebrew speaking culture to begin to grasp the depth and descriptive power of this holy language. “For then I will restore to the peoples a pure language, That they all may call on the name of the L-RD, To serve Him with one accord (Zephaniah 3:9).
What a joy it is to receive a revelation for the first time! Although many teachers have demonstrated the function of “the Branch” in Messianic prophecy and most are aware of the title “Yeshua of Nazareth”, this is the first time time I have ever heard the term “Nazarene” taught as profoundly more than a geographic descriptor. From the illustration correlating the Hebrew words Nester (Branch) and its root Natsar (keep; guard) Naziyr and its root Nazar (dedicate; consecrate) and the Greek Nazara (”the guarded one”) we truly see the Messiah -
Yeshua Ha Nazarei!
With you on the Walls,
Michael

Shalom! Many Blessings to Tsiyon, Eliyahu and Dawn! This ministry is anointed by the Ruach HaQodesh! Praise be to YHWH for being a covenant making and keeping G-D! The one TRUE G-D! Praise by to YESHUA for being the ultimate blameless sacrifice, our ransom paid in full.
I never understood the correlation of Twigville, Nazareth, Nazarenes, Nazerites, Davidic Nazarites, and the family of David before this program! I remember being told about Jesus of Nazareth, yet he was not born there which baffled me until now. It has always seemed complicated before, yet when you explain this it is like you are turning on the light bulb… the Ah HA moment! For Yeshua to be hidden in plain sight just makes sense and is so like YHWH! Yeshua had to be guarded in order to insure his survival. Nothing is left to chance and all has been planned ahead of time. How enlightening! Thank you for explaining and making this clear to me. I really feel this is the first step to understanding Yeshua’s background.
Still amazed and seeking to learn more.
Shalom!

This was an excellent program, and of course I enjoyed it very much. I found myself going back and hearing or reading the transcript several times. There was so much new information for me to absorb. However it made me think back to the discovery of the “Jesus house” and the announcement last December. In an article on Physorg.com, “The Jews of Nazareth dug camouflaged grottos to hide from Roman invaders, said archaeologist Yardena Alexandre, excavations director at the Israel Antiquities Authority. But the hamlet was so far off the beaten path that the caves were apparently not needed, she said.” The statement was made about the finding of a wall, a hide out, and a cistern of what they believe is a house that existed in Nazareth, at the time of Jesus. According to Physorg.com, Nazareth was “a hamlet of around 50 impoverished Jewish families where Jesus spent his boyhood”.
Interesting as that is, it is not the point of the lesson. For me, I took away from the lesson, how the Father divides, separates, and sets apart His people. Those of the faithful remnant of the House of David were set apart and had purpose, they guarded their linage so that prophesy would be fulfilled in them. We, the faithful remnant of Israel, have a purpose also and we who remain faithful are and will continue to fulfill prophesy.

I can’t think of anything new I can add here as I think I’m in agreement with what everyone else has already stated. But I feel in a debt of gratitute to just say that this program has been like spiritual superfood for me so far.
Like others, I’ve wondered why Y’shua was raised in Nazareth, but never realized there was any significance to it other than it being written in the NT that He was prophecied in the OT to be called a Nazarene. Where that was in the OT I didn’t know. Well Eliyahu put that problem to rest.
As a believing Gentile/naturalized Israelite , I share the Prophet Isaiahs and the Apostle Pauls blessing with you :
“For this reason I will confess to You among the Gentiles, And sing to Your name.”
And again he says: “Rejoice, O Gentiles, with His people !”
And again: “Praise the LORD, all you Gentiles ! Laud Him, all you peoples !”
And again, Isaiah says: There shall be a root of Jesse; And He who shall rise to reign over the Gentiles, In Him the Gentiles shall hope.”
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.”

Greetings Eliyahu,
Again I am struck by the depth of your teaching and the detail into the history of YHWH’s people. I am enjoying learning the scriptures from an Hebraic perspective (as if there should be any other way to learn them). “Twigville”, how funny when it is translated into English. I’m so thankful that this ‘twig’ (me) has been grafted in. Praise Him!

How awesome is our El. This progam also shows how Yahweh involves us in His work. Preserving the davidic lineage took the cooperation of numerous generations of believing people. The depth and richness of studying the scriptures with a hebraic mindset; the interpretations of the words brought new life and understanding. Thank you.

Oh how this message gives us a purpose! How often I have felt my desire to serve, but to so little point, as the world teaches us that we are to just put our faith in God and sit back for the ride he takes us on. How refreshing to see that we are to take his word for his return seriously and prepare for what he promised would happen just as this small part of the line of David protected the line to be prepared for the day when YAH would fulfill HIS promises!

Enlightening teaching. The motives of Paul’s persecuters and the pretenders to the throne are understood here by the word and the true interpretation of it. Thier rule was threatened by Paul’s preaching and God’s plan. The light shed on the identity of Yeshua is very valuable. The very name of the town and the definitive article “the” in Hebrew versus “of” in English coupled with the history of the House of David and the family’s keeping of the covenant just reveals more of Yahweh’s intimate exposition in scripture of his plan and will to man. I am so thrilled to be learning this. I have prayed for God to reveal his word to me and boy did he. Praise The King Yeshua. Thank you Eliyahu,Dawn, and all those behind the scenes who make this possible for myself and others.Thank you for your hard work and faithfulness.

Hallelu Yah! What an awesome program. Thank you,Tsiyon, again. How wonderfully all of this fits together, the Nazarites, the Davidic Covenant, the Nazoraeans, the faithful remnant, the town of Natzereth, the lowly Root of David from the concealed yet righteous House of David. And to think that today this righteous remnant remains to keep watch over the Davidic Covenant! and the Root and the Offspring of David will prevail, and overcome, an answer to the faithful preservers and protectors of old and continuing on until Messiah Yeshua comes!
” I have set watchmen on thy walls, O Yerushalayim, they shall never hold their peace, day or night, ‘Ye that are YHWH”s rememberancers keep not silence, and give Him no rest, till He establish and till He make Yerushalayim a praise in the earth.’” Yeshayahu 62:6

Shalom Family.
Love the way you teach my brother. Had to listen several times because of the quality but understood your message.
Shame on the gentile translators who did not take the time to dig into YAHWEHS Sacred Word to get it right but indeed changed it to do away with anything being Jewish.
Shows the humble beginnings of our Messiah Yahshua. Glory be to our King.
One question. Do you believe Yahshua have long hair the way the gentiles portray Him. Would just like to know.
Comment by Roy McCrindle on April 11, 2011 at 6:09 pm
This information is mind-blowing and I’m thankful for it. For the first time I can see the full historical context of the family of David which our Messiah was born into. I also have a greater understanding of your call Eliyahu as a member of the House of David and you need to fulfill it. May Yah bless you abundantly as you continue in His work and call out others to seek out their Hebraic and tribal destiny and walk in it.
When coming out of the church scene, there I so much to unlearn about the apostle Paul and his work and teaching. His passion and conviction are wonderfully portrayed in the accusations brought against him by the Jewish leaders. Paul most certainly understood the difference between Torah and the traditions of men.
Your word study was illuminating as well. Seeing our Messiah as a Nazarite (as distinct from the Samson type) is a first for me. How well he defended his belief in rejecting temptation and giving up his life for the salvation of many.
I have a newfound regard for the twig that shoots out from every stump and tree!

This program highlighted to me how threatened those in power were by Yeshua. I always thought that it was just His popularity and how He was drawing the crowds that made them frightened of losing their power and control over the people. Their fear ran much deeper. They knew who Yeshua was from the time He was brought to the temple as an infant. The genealogical records were stored in the temple and even though Joseph (Yosef) and Mary (Miriam) kept a low profile there was no question about their ancestral linage – they were of the House of David. The gospel of Matthew points out that Yosef was actually a direct descendant of the kings – he was in line to the throne! Those in power, Herod, his sons and the Priests had every reason to fear! If Yeshua, the true son of David and heir to the throne was to gain too much popularity their positions would be lost! Little did they know that Yeshua’s Kingdom (at that time) was not of this world. It makes much more sense now.
The faithfulness of the remnant of house of David was also highlighted by this program. Yosef and Miriam were not just descendants of King David but they were faithful followers of Yahweh and keepers of the Covenant.
Would they, the Nazarenes, have known that it was to be Miriam and Yosef’s responsibility to raise the Messiah? The prophecies would have been studied by this faithful remnant and the times and seasons known as revealed by the Prophets. Is that why both Miriam and Yosef accepted and believed the messages brought to them by the Angel? Also Elisheva (Miriam’s cousin) was quick to acknowledge the mother of her Lord!
I think Eliyahu’s program, ‘On The Road To Tsiyon’, is helping to bring to light the hidden mysteries of ‘the Church’. Things that would have been common knowledge (to greatly help our understanding) if not buried by the institutionalized church.

What amazing teaching! I cannot believe how much I learned in a session lasting less than 1 hour. What this really showed me is how important it is that we are all diligent to search and seek. Eliyahu has done the most outstanding job I have seen so far in thoroughly researching what the terms Nazareth, Nazarene and Nazarite really mean. Quite simply, it brings the world of Yeshua to life! The actions of the faithful remnant of the House of David in guarding and protecting the Davidic Covenant are such a lesson to the remnant of today. May we all follow their lead.
This session brings clarity to so many verses in both the Old and Renewed Covenant scriptures. I urge anyone who hasn’t listened yet, to listen carefully as soon as possible and to listen to all of Eliyahu’s programs in order. Time is ticking away and this is so important.
Shalom,

It amazes me how much we owe those who were faithful to God no matter what. I’m so thankful that the Nazarenes actually preserved the line and waited patiently for the Messiah they knew would come. It really brings it home how much our faithful obedience and actions can bless other people, even people far removed from ourselves. Eliyahu is a fabulous example of this; by faithfully bringing us this session I have learned something I had never heard before! Amazing.
Can’t wait to meet all of God’s faithful people
and of course Yeshua…without whom I would be nothing.

I love the fact that Yahweh brought the promised one from the little town of twigville! How he uses the humble people to bring about His means of accomplishing His plan. I love it.
Its not the educated or the wealthy or the famous things of this world that our Lord uses, its the poor, humble and meek and merciful and those who set out to bring Him all the glory.
How blessed we are to those who stayed true to their God.

Hello all,
Well that was a very interesting program. Very insightful. It makes me think about how very consistant Yahweh is. He always has his Remnant He made sure to keep the line of David pure even through all the times Israel was in captivity. He’s doing the same today through this ministry. He is bringing together his remnant and he will keep us safe and together through all of the things were gonna be going through. I hope this makes sense. With that I’m done for now. Have a nice day

Thank you! Like Dawn, I have also wonder which prophecy Matthew was referring to. How magnificent our God is and how very complete. Coming from Twigville adds to who this Man was, in that once we know who we are, we never need any worldly accolades either in words or possessions. Knowing we are Israel gives us rightful access to the Root of Jesse. Thank you for sharing these little treasures, they make me smile ear to ear. They also are great conversation starters to speak truth. Blessings to you all.

What a wonderful program! Who would have known how MUCH the root meaning of Nazar would mean to us in these last days. I pray that the righteous remnant will “come out of her” soon!
Many have heard that the true Messiah would come out of Nazaret but how many have hear that a false messiah would come out of Katchba?
I am truly humbled to be a grafted-in partaker and supporter of the True Nazareth’s
