Prophets Assist Apostles #88

Sep-7-2007 By Tsiyon

Today prophets are often thought of as rather gruff people who can’t get along with anyone. As we look at the record of the first century believers in the book of Acts we get a picture of prophets that is not like that stereotype at all! We will look at examples of prophets who were mature men of God, fully submitted to apostolic leadership, working hard to build up the one Body of Messiah shoulder to shoulder with the apostles. These were faithful men who could be sent out far away by the leadership in Jerusalem with confidence that they would uphold the core values, teachings and authority defined by the men Messiah had chosen to govern His Assembly. Personal ego was not the driving force for these men. Devotion to Messiah and His Kingdom is what motivated them. In times like these when being “first” seems to be everything, such men are highly under-rated, but, as you will see in this program, the Good News may never have gotten much beyond Judea had it not been for the vital ministry of those who were “second” - the faithful prophets!

The Prophets #86

Aug-24-2007 By Tsiyon

The Prophets are part of the 3-fold foundation of the Body of Messiah. That makes them vital to the spiritual life of every believer. What exactly is a prophet? If your answer is “someone who foretells the future” then you are describing a fortuneteller - not a Scriptural prophet. In this program you will learn exactly what a prophet is, what a prophet does, and how a prophet does it - and why it is vitally important for you to know all this about the prophets! The history of the Order of the Prophets in ancient Israel tells us much to inform us about who the prophets were and how they functioned. See the picture of the prophetic office as it functioned in ancient Israel as we look at the amazing lives of men like Samuel, Jeremiah and Elijah. There is more here than you thought. Be prepared for a few surprises!

Apostolic Job Description #85

Aug-17-2007 By Tsiyon

In the first century there were multiple apostles, each directly sent out by Messiah to act in His Name. How were all of these apostles able to deal with potential conflicts of authority to harmoniously build up the one Body of Messiah? Some modern scholars say that such a conflict brought about a rift between the Jerusalem apostles and Paul whereby Paul went off on his own to found a new religion called “Christianity.” In this program we trace the inspired record of Paul’s life and find that charge to be groundless. Not only that, but we find that Paul and all of the apostles worked out the great questions that confronted them in a harmonious way reflecting the deep commitment to the one Body of Messiah that characterized all of them. What is it really like to be an apostle? In this program you will get a Scriptural, and a very profound, answer.

Apostolic Body Building #84

Aug-10-2007 By Tsiyon

Test your knowledge of the BODY of MESSIAH:

What is the five-fold ministry? What is the three-fold foundation? Why must the five-fold ministry be built upon the three-fold foundation? Why must the Body of Messiah be built upon the three-fold foundation? What happens if it’s not? What is the purpose of the five-fold ministry? What is the purpose of the Body as a whole? How is the Body of Messiah different than religion? Where do you fit in to the Body?

Now let’s move on to some questions about APOSTLES:

Where does the term ‘apostle’ originate and what does it mean? (Here’s a hint: It has to do with the Hebrew term ’shaliach’) Who were the OT/Tanach apostles? Who was the first apostle of the Renewed Covenant era? What are the different categories of apostle and how do they differ from one another? Why should you care?

If you don’t know the answer to any of these questions this program is just what you need. Sign up for the full hour to be sure you are getting it ALL!
