Starting with the prophecy in Amos 9:8-12 in which the Lord our God communicates His removal of the sinful nation of Israel and the death of those sinners who thought themselves safe in their sin due to their unique RELIGIOUS (having the temple in Jerusalem; having the oracles of God; being circumcised) relationship with God as well as His reestablishing of the Tent of David (i.e. the House of David) and the bringing of those of all the nations upon whom He would put His name under it, we are pointed to the 1st century fulfillment of this prophecy - which we have been learning about in the last few lessons.

We find ourselves again in Acts 15 and discover that the portion of prophecy there quoted by James/Yaakov is Amos 9:11-12 which refers to the reestablishment of the Tent of David and the inclusion of members of the gentile nations in those who will find shelter under it. The version quoted by Yaakov is, however, not the Masoretc Text but the Septuagint, that translation of the Tanach into Greek which was done some 2 or 3 centuries before the advent of Messiah.

Actually, the majority of the quotations from the Tanach in the New Testament are from the Septuagint. It has been related that the followers of Messiah were able to use the Septuagint with great effectiveness in proclaiming the Gospel of Yeshua's Messiahship. So effectively that those who refused to accept the truth abandoned the Septuagint (which had heretofore been very popular among the Jews of the Dispersion). Additionally, there are differences between the Septuagint and the Masoretic Text. Can it be possible that "corrections" were made to the Hebrew text in order to move it away from the Septuagint? That would be nothing new as we have seen in the last few lessons. In this case, there is a difference of only two hebrew letters.

So, as we have seen, the Tent of David was reestablished in the 1st century and the Assemblies prospered under it, but it also came under concerted attack and finally disappeared from the stage of history in the early 4th century. But that was not the end of the applicability of the prophecy, for this generation upon whom the end days have come will also see its fulfillment - the reestablishment of David's Tent and the gathering of the Remnant under it.

Praised be God.

Great program and YHWH is so faithful to keep his promises foretold by the prophets of the re-establishment (as of in the days of old) of the ruling kingdom by the descendants from the house of David that Yeshua put in place (or re-instituted) during the 1st century, which took place with James the Just as the leader and his other family members supporting him, and how it continued on through the 4th century and how this will happen again in the last generation. (Our generation folks).

What a neat thing to happen again in our generation.

BTW>I was very involved in the messianic davidic dance ministry in the messianic congregations and I think I heard the "tent of David" being applied to the davidic dance. Funny U mentioned that E.

This program really helped me to see Yahweh’s plan for the Remnant in the past and in the future. The correlation of Amos and Acts is very enlightening. It is very helpful in knowing His purpose for believers and for the government of the House of David. I look foward to seeing this fulfilled. It will be glorious to see Yahweh’s will come to fruition and Yeshua’s Bride living in unity.

In this program you pointed this out, but for me it really hit home. That is that the early assembly, the Messianic believers, under the leadership of James and then Symeon, were of one accord. When they had a dispute they brought it to James, the leader, and after hearing all sides of the argument, he made the decision. The others then agreed to abide by the decision.
This doesn't happen in the modern church. My wife and I had many conversations over the past years and she would frequently ask, "If we all serve the same God, why are there so many different beliefs, why doesn't everyone believe the same thing? Why are there so many different denominations? Why doesn't everyone believe that green is the best color of carpet for a church. (she never said that one.)
I would answer (of course with all my knowledge and wisdom backing me up...), "Uhhhh, I don't know."
But now I do. (She does too because she has already heard this program.)

The leadership of the church is not functioning as Yahweh had intended. There is no unity because they (the church) are not under the Tent of David. It is not the legitimate leadership as set up by Yahweh. David was not Roman, was he? (I don't think he was, I'll have to check. ) Yahweh did not promise to David a "Roman Kingdom" that would never end. The Kingdom of Yahweh would be of David's house. It's pretty clear. It's tough to spin that one to fit some other doctrine, and yet the Catholic Church has done it for over 16 hundred years. (Man that's a long tome.) They've done it mostly by force and politics. But what would you expect when you realize that that movement sprang up out of the Roman Empire. That's what mans empires are, force and politics.

The beauty in all this is that even though Satan tried to co-opt Yahweh's Kingdom, Yahweh turned it around on him and saved millions of lost souls bringing them to a belief in Yeshua. Yahweh will not be denied His praise and worship. Even though the leadership of the believers were not legitimate, i.e. not of the Tent of David, the gates of hell would not prevail against Yeshua's Kingdom. How that must infuriate Satan, to have the church he tried to control, produce millions of believers in Yeshua.
We are now entering into the time when Yahweh will set things right, for all time.
Restore and Rebuild the Tent of David as You promised. Your word will not go unfulfilled. Your plan will not be thwarted or thrown down. You will not hold back your will and your fury indefinitely. Yeshua will reign on the Throne of David forever.
Praise Him for His patience, His mercy, His love, His righteous judgement.

Shalom,

The House of David, supported by the family,
will reign in Yahweh's Kingdom, for eternity!
The Tent of Yahweh, established in the wilderness,
becomes the House of David, including all of us!
Restoration is much deeper, than it really seems,
Talmidin program, helps to explain just what this means!
Davidic lineage, stepping up, to take the lead,
authority in control, for all who express belief!
Fulfillment of ancient prophecy, from the prophet Amos,
is more than just the 1st century, is given to involve us!
God's Kingdom government, must be set up in it's role,
with Tsadeek in authority, for believers in control!
Today we are scattered, and it seems no where to go,
be sure to hear Yahweh calling, gather as a whole!

Reading this passage of scripture in Amos with new eyes and new understanding. How wonderful is Yahweh in His faithfulness to keep covenant with the House of David. His righteous judgment of the evil leaders in the line of David and yet preserve righteous seed. Also, that Yahweh would preserve all the House of Israel; thus restoring the ten tribes back into the kingdom.
My understanding is that circumcision is not a requirement for salvation. However, according to the Torah, to eat the Pesach meal one must be circumcised...James gave guidelines to help the "gentile" converts to assimilate back into the kingdom of Yahweh; thus giving them time to grow in their faith and sanctification.
First, it would take a step of faith for those who must believe others who are claiming to be of the House of David since there are no records to prove their claims. Righteous leaders who are truly examples to the people. Teaching the principles of the Kingdom in sincerity and in truth. It will be exciting to see this restoration of the tent of David.

Greetings to all,
Well this hour leaves me with a lot of questions. First of which is ,Where is the Tent of David today?
Interesting though looking at Acts the way we have in this series. There is a much bigger picture in these chapter's than I saw before. To see the Authority James had ,and how he handled it is Humbling. And I think there is a valuable lesson to where our Heart should be...on Yahweh. It is not up to us how this is going to play out.It is that this Tent is going up and Bigger than ever before.Someone needs to show up before the others to clear the ground, raise the poles, drive in the stakes, and make the preparations for the remnant to gather. I hope to be part of this. I know that Yahweh has moved in my life and I don't thank of myself as an Israelite. But I know how thankful I am to him .I know that I worship Yahweh with all my Heart, and no preacher could take that away. I am proof that he can work in anyone so who can put a yoke on me? Or anyone for that matter. This is where James is coming from.If Yahweh is working it is because he can,and you should not get in his way. I see it as tempting Yahweh to tweak his Gospel and stop his work because of our pride. Tough lesson to really learn ,maybe, but when he becomes the center of our life, the choices become easier. The path becomes clearer ,and we start to seek him and look for the Tent of David.
