Great Teaching. I didn’t know what the Urim and Thummim was, or heard of the Urim and Thummim until I heard this program.
This is my understanding-when I heard this program……
The priest claiming the rights & responsibilities of Israel before Yahweh, reminding Him of the covenant of the 12 tribes of Israel. (bearing Jugement) before Yahweh. As the high priest wears this reminder on his heart(wearing the breastplate attached to the ephod on his chest, wearing the 12 stones on this breastplate) The 12 stones represent the 12 tribes of Israel. The Urim and Thummim is another term or name for the 12 stones. The breast plate with the 12 stones is a reminder to Yahweh of the covenant with the 12 tribes of Israel as well as a reminder to the high priest.
Thank U for a great program.

Thank you for your program of the Urim and the Thummin
I was reading just today in Sh’mu’el chapter 28 verse 6 says,” But when he consulted Adonai, Adonai didn’t answer him, not by dreams, not by the urim and not by prophets.” I had read this before but did not have an understanding of what it was talking about. This shows how the Urim was an acceptable method used. Sha’ul’s behavior (like many people today) after not hearing from Adonai in the acceptable manor he consults an Ein-Dor later, that was not an acceptable way to hear from Adonai. It was very nice to have a better understanding of the Urim after hearing this program. It also is nice to know what is on my new silver shekel that I am very pleased with. I know it is just a coin but it warms my heart because it reminds me of you at Tsiyon and the connection we have with ABBA Yahweh and our Messiah Yeshua. Thank you for the explanation of the Star of David in your news letter as well. I can’t wait for the next program!
Blessings!

The legend of the Urim and Thummim,
is debated, as to just what they do mean!
They are more than a decision, the casting of a lot,
most definitely, pagan idol worship, something they are not!
Based on the holy scriptures, and Jewish commentary,
they seem to be the stones, of Hebrew ancestry!
The High Priest wears these stones, from the tribes of Israel,
12 stones, located in the ephod, part of his holy apparel!
Yahweh has instructed, to keep these stones in part,
to ensure, the High Priest’s judgement, is from his holy heart!
The stones of illumination and perfection, one from each tribe,
are on the breastplate of judgement, attached on every side!
The High Priest is our moderator, representing Yahweh,
must wear the ephod garment, when ministering His way!
These holy garments of Aaron, meant to set apart,
bares all the children of Israel, kept closely to his heart!
The Urim and Thummim, engraved on the Kingdom coin,
illuminates the covenant, to this Family, we must join!

Spot on! Love this! Standing in the office of High Priest, bearing the names of the Tribes of Yisrael-both natural and the grafted-in, upon the heart, the centre of our being, as a MEDIATOR, before YHWH continually!
Each Living-Stone, with its individual qualities, rights and responsibilities, on the Breastplate/hearts of High Priests, reminding us of YHWH “to love HIM and His people!” (quote-Dawn. Amein!!)
The heart is where YHWH deals with us; a person’s inner life being revealed.
Saul’s heart was not fully surrendered to YHWH, 1 Sam 28: 6, consequently, YHWH did not answer him in his seeking/enquiry, not by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.

Greetings,
This was all new to me. One more thing I had blown by in the past. This gives us so much of the story in one symbol.Kind of like an abbreviation of His whole Torah . To see this order is to accept his order. Again this leads us to consistency of the Word.Once it is all put together it makes complete sense. I think this is helpful to the average “Christian” like myself that knew there was more to Jacob’s blessing and the orders in Numbers for how they “Israel” should march. Good stuff…..Great Poem Shix …as usual, and hello to all in the Tsiyon community.
See you on the Road,
Fred

Okay, got it. The Urim and Thummim is the breatplate with the 12 stones representing the 12 tribes of Israel… This was a mystery to me until this day. TU. Wow! These quotes from the different sources seem mystic; however, I have read the Bood of Yahshur and there are quite a few events that would be hard to believe if we allowed our minds to scoff…There are creatures in the Book of Revelation that seem mystic in their appearance? As you say, the quotes regarding the Urim and Thummim can not be clarified; but, I believe we can take them with a grain of salt.
Years ago, when I was in Bible College, I remember an instructor talking about the breatplate and the twelve stones. He spoke of the properties of the stones that each of the tribes were represented by. I was fascinated to be sure. Now, you are giving us this information in a hebraic format. It is awesome. How I love learning about these things!!! My soul cries out for the living Elohim.
The Breastplate of Judgment carried over the heart of the high priest. Yahshua is our High Priest and He carries the Breatplate of Judgment for the 12 tribes over His heart in the Temple.
The words Illumination and Perfection are intriguing.

I remember coming across this in Scripture Urim and Thummim but glossed over it like many things in the Bible that I had no clue about. Here I learned about the nuts and bolts (and much more!) about he Urim and Thummim. The background of this concept and dispelling the mythology that arose concerning them. I am thankful that I don’t have to purge any misconceptions that I had adopted about the Urim and Thummim since I am starting from a clueless position on this. (Sometime being ignorant is a blessing!)
Like so many things with YHWH, the Urim and Thummim, it’s a matter of the heart.
