Quick Glossary

Tsiyon (pronounced like Zion)

1. A place in Jerusalem.
2. The Davidic Kingdom operating under God's authority & according to the Davidic Covenant.

Nation

A group of people descended from a common ancestor. (The Nation of Israel descends from Abraham, Isaac, & Jacob)

Nation of Israel

1. All natural born Israelites descended from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
2. All those who enter into Israel's covenant with God in faith, whether natural born Israelites or grafted in ex-gentiles. (Romans 11)
3. The Remnant Nation of Israel who are faithful to God's covenant and obey His will.

The Remnant of Israel

The faithful natural born or grafted in Israelites God has set apart for Himself who:
1. Believe in and follow Israel's God-given Davidic King Y'shua Messiah.
2. Keep the Renewed Covenant. (Jeremiah 31, Luke 22:20, Luke 22:29-30)
3. Are organized under Messiah's authority according to the Holy order of Israel as established throughout Scripture, in order that they might keep the whole covenant as required, obey all of God's will without worldly restraint, and fulfill Israel's National Mission.

Although YHWH scattered disobedient Israel to the four winds, He has kept a remnant of Israel for Himself.

What Is Israel's National Mission?

Isaiah 1:9

Unless YHWH of Hosts had left to us a very small remnant, we would have been as Sodom; we would have been like Gomorrah.

Isaiah 46:3-4

Listen to me, house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, that have been borne from their birth, that have been carried from the womb; and even to old age I am he, and even to gray hairs will I carry you. I have made, and I will bear; yes, I will carry, and will deliver.

Romans 11:5

Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace.

Description:

Yeshua spoke to a multitude of people from the side of a mountain in the area of Galilee. This is reported in Matthew chapters 5-7, and is commonly called “The Sermon on the Mount.” Of course, Yeshua shared the common culture of 1st Century Judea with those listening to Him. Beyond that, though, He and they all shared a commonality with every age of their Hebrew nation. I’m referring to the covenant with YHWH that defines Israel as a nation. The Constitution of that nation is The Torah, the five books of Moses that contain the Commandments of YHWH for His people. While the people of Israel were divided into different sects and viewpoints in the 1st Century, all looked to the Torah as God’s revelation to Israel. Yeshua and His disciples shared that common ground with His listeners. Therefore, His hearers back then recognized the Torah in nearly EVERYTHING He said! Most of us today do not share that common ground of the Torah with Messiah. Let us help with that!

Immediately after HIs resurrection Messiah met with His brother, James, and appointed Him as leader over the Assembly, providing the Assembly with a Davidic leader according to the Davidic Covenant. After James a succession of Davidic leaders led the Assemblies for generations. Restoration of the Kingdom government demands that Davidic leadership must be restored. That Davidic leadership has already been appointed by Messiah.
