Resurrection Appearances

Our primary sources for this teaching are The Gospel According To John and quotations of Jerome from The Gospel According to the Hebrews, an account of the earthly life and resurrection of Messiah Y'shua first written in Hebrew and held sacred within the first century Nazarean community of believers. This source reports on the resurrection appearance of Messiah to His brother, commonly known as James the Just / Yakov HaTsadeek. While Paul affirms that Messiah appeared to Yakov / James after His resurrection this appearance to Yakov / James is not reported on anywhere in the traditional New Testament Scriptures, leaving a significant gap in the NT resurrection report. That makes the resurrection report from The Gospel According to the Hebrews all the more valuable, since it fills in information known to be lacking from the traditional four Gospels. This important information significantly fills out the picture of what happened after the resurrection of Messiah and helps to lay a foundation of understanding of the role of James the Just / Yakov HaTsadeek among the early believers.
